A typhoon may form the day after tomorrow！Stay alert for heavy rain and torrential rain warnings

A tropical depression with a pressure of 1000 hPa is located at 10°N, 147.5°E, in the sea area southeast of Guam, moving northwest at 10 km/h. There is a possibility this tropical depression will develop into a typhoon, and it may become a typhoon on July 5.

Meanwhile, Typhoon Babylon has strengthened into a moderate typhoon (international name PRAPIROON). It is expected to be located 500 km east of Seoul (1700 km northeast of Taipei) on July 4. Both Japan and South Korea are on high alert. Those traveling in Japan and South Korea on July 4 and 5 should pay special attention to the weather.

Affected by the southwest monsoon, the weather across Taiwan is unstable, with a chance of afternoon thunderstorms. The weather bureau has issued heavy rain warnings for 10 counties and cities in central and southern Taiwan, including torrential rain warnings for Kaohsiung and Pingtung, and heavy rain warnings for eight counties and cities: Miaoli, Taichung, Yunlin, Changhua, Nantou, Chiayi County and City, and Tainan. Carry rain gear when going out. Due to the moisture brought by Babylon, the weather is particularly muggy—stay vigilant against heatstroke.
