Yayoi Kusama’s Dots Party: Celebrate in Kaohsiung and Taichung with Art and Fun!

The birthday of renowned Japanese contemporary artist Yayoi Kusama falls on March 22. To promote the exhibition "Dreams I Dreamed: Yayoi Kusama Asian Tour Exhibition Taiwan Stop" in Kaohsiung and Taichung, a special cross-city celebration event titled “Dreaming with Yayoi 'Playful Dots' Party” has been organized. Combining exhibitions of Yayoi Kusama’s works with fun, hands-on craft workshops and a market fair, the event offers the public multiple ways to learn about the artist. Fans of Yayoi Kusama are invited to join in the celebration.

The Asian tour exhibition’s first stop is currently being enthusiastically showcased at the Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts. On March 22, Yayoi Kusama’s birthday, visitors who purchase two exhibition tickets at the ticket counter will receive one free "Dreaming with Yayoi Dot Card." From 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM that day, a series of pumpkin craft workshops will be held at the outdoor circular plaza of the KMFA, including silk-screen printing experiences, ribbon art, and creative balloon activities. These also incorporate the retro dot fashion elements of the 1960s New York era when Yayoi Kusama first rose to fame, complementing the exhibition. Through the “Pumpkin Garden Playground” activities, everyone can witness the rise, retreat, and comeback of the Queen of Dots.
