Big-name artist Show Lo makes an appearance！Lineup announced for Gongliao Ocean Music Festival

Every summer, the most eagerly awaited music event among fans — the "New Taipei City Gongliao International Ocean Music Festival" — returns from July 27 (Fri) to July 29 (Sun), featuring three days of continuous live music at Fulong Beach in Gongliao. This year, as the 18th edition of the festival, it comes with the theme “18 Music,” delivering an even richer and more diverse selection of original music for all fans.

On “July 27 – Original New Wave,” artists including Eggplant Egg and Atomic Betty, both nominated for this year’s Golden Melody Awards, as well as Xiao Yu (Song Nianyu), who was nominated for Best Mandarin Male Singer, will take the stage. They will be joined by representatives from two of Taiwan's major hip-hop labels, “Yan Society” and “Ren Ren You Gong Lian,” presenting a multigenerational and cross-label fusion of hip-hop and EDM. The night will close with a performance by Egghead (Dou Bao).

On “July 28 – Ocean Independent Music Grand Prix,” in addition to the final performances of bands competing for the Ocean Flag, last year’s Ocean Flag winner — the heavy metal band Burning Island, which marked the first time the flag was won by a metal act since the festival’s inception — will also perform, with Malaysian musical genius Namewee (Huang Mingzhi) closing the night.

On the final day, “July 29 – World Rhapsody,” along with last year’s Ocean Star band “Despair Youth,” international acts such as Ireland’s The City and Us, Japan’s ROOKiEZ is PUNK’D, and Thailand’s Slot Machine will also perform, together with BOXING, Chairman Band, and Show Lo’s band, the Lion.

This year, the festival has also broken new ground by creating an “International Stage – Cross-Border Clash” for global band collaborations, and a uniquely designed Hot Wave Rock Mini Stage built on a fishing boat, aiming to deliver a more immersive atmosphere for all participating bands and fans.
