The endless dreamlike flower carpet is so romantic. Five must-visit flower fields in Hokkaido

Hokkaido is not only a popular winter destination for snow viewing, but also a hotspot for flower viewing in spring and summer. Below are five scenic spots featuring flower fields, including not only the most famous shibazakura but also vast golden rapeseed fields, tulips, and azaleas. It's perfect for a road trip where you can enjoy the boundless scenery with the wind in your hair.

1. Higashimokoto Shibazakura Park
When the shibazakura are in full bloom, the slopes of Higashimokoto Park turn a shade of pink, covering an expansive area of 10 hectares and attracting many visitors every year. The park also offers facilities such as observation decks, guided tour buses, and electric vehicles for visitors to use, along with a variety of local specialties and food themed around shibazakura.

2. Taiyo no Oka Eniwa Park
Taiyo no Oka Eniwa Park also boasts a stunning expanse of shibazakura, complemented by tulips nearby, allowing visitors to enjoy two types of flower fields in one visit. The park spans 10 hectares and is famous for its autumn cosmos fields, with tens of millions of cosmos flowers planted, making it Japan’s largest cosmos field.

3. Kamiyubetsu Tulip Park
The blooming tulips at Kamiyubetsu Tulip Park create a view reminiscent of a European garden. The tulips in the park include varieties named after fairy tale characters such as "Pinocchio," "Don Quixote," and "Aladdin," as well as rare varieties directly imported from their native Netherlands, totaling 120 varieties and 1.2 million plants.
