Temperature hits century-high; frontal system brings afternoon thunderstorms on Tuesday

From May 28 to June 3, the area north of Taoyuan and the eastern part of Taiwan will experience rainy weather. A frontal system arrives on Tuesday, making the chance of afternoon thunderstorms quite high. The rainy pattern will continue through the weekend, so travelers should pay close attention to weather changes.

The central region will see sunny skies turning to thunderstorms in the afternoon on Sunday; the south will have cloudy skies with brief rain from Monday to Wednesday. Conditions will become more stable from Wednesday evening to Friday, while the Yunlin–Chiayi area and Pingtung may see brief afternoon thunderstorms on Sunday.

Temperatures across Taiwan will range between 25–31°C, with the southern region possibly reaching around 33°C. In basin areas such as Taipei and Taichung, daytime highs could hit around 34°C. Be sure to take precautions against sunburn and heatstroke, stay hydrated regularly, and be cautious when moving between environments with large temperature differences.
