Halloween is coming soon! Are you starting to plan how to help your little one get into the spooky spirit?
Ready to have fun with your child going trick-or-treating?
Around Halloween and Christmas, do schools usually start giving out projects?
At this time, many moms get really stressed, rushing around shopping malls or toy stores looking for special costume props. And as you know, these clothes aren’t cheap—plus kids grow so fast, they might not even fit next year. It’s such a waste of money just for one day of fun, really hurts the wallet!
So once again, we turn to the DIY Mom Workshop—saving that money to buy practical clothes is much smarter ^^
When DIY Mom teaches you a few super simple tricks, you can turn one dress into matching parent-child outfits in different sizes and create unique spooky looks for you and your child!
Recently, because DIY Mom’s new kitchen is finished, she invited friends and nearby Taiwanese moms from the neighborhood. Suddenly, an idea struck—DIY Mom hasn’t thrown a party in ages!So here’s a little challenge for all the moms" The materials and tools are very simple: The color of the existing clothes is key Halloween color associations Orange – Little pumpkins Since there’s printed text on the chest, first turn the dress inside out and place the design at the back!! Dark felt fabric – use scrap paper to cut the desired shape first, then place it on the felt and cut together!! Draw dashed lines on the neckline and you can cut directly (stretchy fabric won’t fray at the edges, and it’s fine to wash afterward) Then add green as the pumpkin’s leaves!! Directly cut out the green Halloween lettering!! Arrange everything nicely and pin it with corsage pins (or silk pins) to secure!! The parts cut from the long skirt will be used to make the bunny girl's dress. Draw a curved line around the edge of the fabric, including both the front and back neckline!! Remove the markings—you need to mark both the front and back neckline!! Fold in half in the middle before cutting, so the left and right sides will be more even!! PS. Leave an extra 1 cm at the shoulder and side seams for sewing!! Sew or hand-stitch the shoulder and diagonal edges with a 1 cm seam. Use the remaining fabric to lengthen the skirt hem—cut extra fabric 10 cm wide, then gather it along the hem to add flair and liveliness to the dress^^ You can finish or leave raw the neckline and cuffs—the shrinkage of the fabric may cause fraying otherwise!! Use green to create leaf decorations—compare your felt pieces!! Sew with matching or similar color thread using a running stitch!! Isn't it simple and easy!! Done—my dress and the bunny girl’s dress are finished!! Aren’t they quick and easy matching parent-child outfits!! This is the pumpkin parent-child outfit after washing—it hasn’t unraveled at all!! The felt is still intact and can be worn many times!! It’s totally fine for everyday wear too!! (Using a laundry bag is better!!) Cut hair strands all 1 cm wide—prepare several strips!! This is the bunny girl’s head circumference (the ribbon width is 2.5 cm) Secure the crossed parts tightly with needle and thread!! Start using hot glue to fix the hair, placing it 2 cm out from the raised edge of the hat frame!! Poke a needle at the crossover point on top of the head to fix the hair that will go to the back in the middle!! Secure and sew it in place!! The hair going to the back is also glued one strand at a time along the original hat frame edge!! Cut a 5x7 cm rectangle into an upright triangle that is wider at the bottom and narrower at the top!!!! Stitch the edges together to form a bowl shape!! Once sewn, turn it inside out—it’ll look like… an orange—and add facial features to make it an orange with a face haha!! (I use glue for the facial features because it’s faster^^) Draw a base circle on green felt, cut it out—that’s the bottom of the pumpkin!! Sew a green ribbon around the edge of the pumpkin to act as the pumpkin leaves!! (Pay attention to the direction!!) Flip it over—it looks like a flower!! Sew the bottom closed and stuff with cotton!! Pull the ribbon down to the bottom and stick it!! (This method makes the ribbon round and stiff!!) Then attach a hair clip and you’re done~ Add a green stem and leaves and you’re done!! The mom had to trick the princess-obsessed bunny girl into wearing it, so she added a crown and told her it was the princess of the pumpkin world—only then would she wear it!! Haha~ Pinned onto his long “wig” hair~ doesn’t it look even more stylish and fun?! (You can also glue it on securely so it won’t fall off easily~) Doesn’t it look more cohesive now~!! When styled into two separate strands on the left and right, plus a bow ribbon, isn’t it super charming?! The kneeling mom made a simple little hairband using leftover fabric ^^ Haha~ Ta-da!! Ta-da!!~ Isn’t it both adorable and a bit hilarious?! It’s so weird seeing Bunny Girl with hair~ haha!! Doesn’t it look even more feminine when styled in two strands?! Bunny Girl is super happy to have hair~!! Haha~!! She kept telling Kneeling Mom: Mommy!! Mommy~ I have “wig” hair!! She’s been wearing the wig comfortably all along!! Haha~ It’s recommended to glue it on securely so it won’t keep falling off!! Because Kneeling Mom spent the whole event looking for pumpkin clips!! I was forced to wear fishnet stockings~ because every mom there was prettier than the next!! I lost~ so embarrassing!! I originally wanted to go for a cute and sweet family style~ T..T Paired with prop pumpkin balloons~!! Paired with makeup, Halloween-style lashes, and pumpkin face doodles!! It’s even more complete now ^^ YA~!! Here’s the complete family matching outfit!! My favorite Omi Mommy!! Also used ready-made clothes plus felt fabric to create it!! Are you starting to get excited to throw a fun party? Quickly bring your little one along to join the fun!!
1. Felt fabric
2. Scissors
3. Styrofoam glue or white glue (but white glue dries slower and may peel or deform easily)
4. Needles and thread in matching colors
Black – Devils, vampires, witches, spiders
White – Ghosts, skulls
Red – Little demons
(Was just struggling to figure out what Halloween costume to put Bunny Girl in, then suddenly thought of that orange long dress DIY Mom has, and orange totally fits the Halloween pumpkin theme, perfect!! Time to get started ^^)

First cut out a piece of black fabric for the bottom, then attach the white felt skull part!! This creates a large section, which is then sewn onto the black dress!!
Doesn’t it look super like a skull stuck to the body?! And after the holiday, you can just remove the original pieces and the clothes are still wearable!! So smart!!
This hand has a story~ the skeleton hand grabs boobs and also holds the chest!!
(And Omi’s husband insisted that only his hand could be used!! Because the wife can only grab her husband~ haha!! This couple is just too cute ^^)
That’s the simple felt craft share above, hope everyone can also create their own unique and quirky costumes!!
Next time I’ll share with you all about this Kneeling Mom’s cute and spicy mom’s gathering!!
And the wives’ group turned out to be even spicier than one another!! I almost got nosebleeds from looking!! Wives definitely don’t have to be dull and plain!! YA~
