Every year when Halloween comes, it's the most stressful time for me.
Buying clothes? Kids grow so fast, you spend money and they can only wear them for one year before they’re outgrown and given away.
Making them yourself? Well, doing hairstyles for two kids at the same time is just too much hassle.
This year, since we moved to Beijing, I could only get these materials on the all-powerful Taobao.
And I was worried about getting duds.
Check out the six simple Halloween hairstyles I designed for my little girl!
Sometimes, not styling the hair is also a kind of beauty.
Put on the four-leaf clover accessory, and my little bun happily said, “Mom, I’m a fairy now!”
Then she started dancing around and singing.
What an easy-going little girl!
This one is super simple — just add a pipe cleaner when braiding a three-strand braid.
Once the braid is done, you can fold it into pointy ears.
Secure it with small black hair clips.
Make sure to clip it well, okay? Because kids are super active.
If not clipped properly, it’ll fall off in no time!
It’s basically the same method as the cat ears from earlier.
But then I found that if your pipe cleaner isn’t thick or stiff enough,
the result will be too soft and hard to secure.
So you can add two or even three pipe cleaners into the three-strand braid.
I originally wanted to do a whole pumpkin head.
But my little bun’s hair is uneven in length.
So I could only choose the neater part on top to make a smaller pumpkin.
If you want to make it prettier afterward, you can braid the lower part of the hair.
One or two braids is fine too — styling should be playful and stress-free!
This hairband was made by the little bun herself.
I really enjoy letting my child play while I style her hair.
A child’s world is built through play.
Sometimes, when I want to help my child develop a habit,
Just tell your child, "Mom wants to play a game. Does anyone want to play with me?"
Ninety-nine point nine percent of the time, you can trick your kid into going along with it.
Hehe~
Saying it's scary actually isn't scary at all.
First, tie your hair up into a bun.
Then insert eight pipe cleaners into the bun.
Finally, stick the googly eyes onto clips and insert them in the right spots—done!
Which of these six styles do you like best?
Making your hair look a bit over-the-top is totally fine, even if you don’t buy Halloween clothes or accessories.
Wishing everyone a fun time!
