No. 10 The Venetian Macao
Every year during Christmas, The Venetian Macao unveils a 3D light show. This year, from December 9 to January 1, 2017, the outdoor artificial lake area in front of the main entrance will be transformed into a dreamy winter wonderland. From 6:00 PM to 10:30 PM daily, a spectacular large-scale 3D light projection show takes place every half hour. The dazzling lights, reflected on the lake surface, are truly breathtaking.
No. 9 Tokyo Skytree, Japan
From November 10 to December 25 this year, Tokyo Skytree is adorned with 400,000 light bulbs on its tower body, while the lower half features 3D projection animations, making it look like a giant Christmas tree. At its base stands the “634 Christmas Tree,” named after the tower’s height of 634 meters. Visitors can enjoy the magical Christmas tree both from the outside and inside the tower.
No. 8 Tokyo Disneyland, Japan
To celebrate Christmas, Tokyo Disneyland launched the 48-day-long “Dream Christmas” event from November 8 to December 25. The park is decorated with festive ornaments everywhere, and the beloved Mickey and Minnie also parade in Christmas outfits. Universal Studios Japan brought in this year a Guinness World Record-holding Christmas tree into the park. Just the tree itself, decorated with over 530,000 lights, is an incredible sight. Next to the tree is the grand “Miracle of Angels” performance, which has won the THEA Award. It features glowing angels flying through the air, complementing a heartwarming love story with vibrant light displays.

No. 4 Hong Kong WinterFest
The annual Hong Kong WinterFest kicked off on November 25 this year and runs until January 1, 2017. Organized by the Hong Kong Tourism Board, the event offers festive activities for locals and attracts tourists from abroad. The performances take place at the outdoor plaza of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre in Tsim Sha Tsui, combining 3D projection technology, music, and lighting to create a strong Christmas atmosphere. In Central’s Statue Square, nestled among office buildings, stands a beautifully decorated Christmas tree full of blessings. Couples can even hang “love locks” to commemorate romantic moments.
No. 3 Seoul Myeongdong Light Festival, South Korea
Myeongdong, a must-visit spot in Korea, hosts the Myeongdong Light Festival from December 1 to January 31, 2017. Christmas trees and various illuminated displays fill the streets. For those looking to travel abroad for the holidays but unsure of the destination, Korea offers a unique Christmas experience in Seoul.

No. 2 Taipei Strasbourg Christmas Market
The Taipei City Government, in collaboration with the French Institute in Taiwan, introduced France’s oldest and most renowned “Strasbourg Christmas Market” for the first time this year. Though the Christmas tree was criticized for being overly commercial, official photos were called misleading (“photo scams”), and some complained about the small number of stalls, it still attracted large crowds. Taipei 101 spokesperson Liu Jiahao stated:(The Strasbourg Christmas Market) when touring globally, is usually set up with around 15 wooden chalets in each city, just to let people get a feel for the atmosphere. Currently, about 70% of our goods either come from that region or use ingredients sourced from there, and are made here on-site, aiming to give the public a taste of a European-style Christmas.”

No.1 New Taipei City Christmasland
Now in its sixth year, the New Taipei City Christmasland officially kicked off on November 19 this year and will run until January 2, 2017, for a total of 45 days. This year, the New Taipei City Government has specially collaborated with Hexogon Solution, Singapore’s top projection team that set a Guinness World Record, to create an international-level light show spectacle. Highlights include a ‘360-degree 3D stereoscopic light projection Christmas tree,’ as well as an expanded projection area for the main Christmas light show that covers the entire city hall building, making it the ‘nation’s largest projected light show.’ Additionally, the popular "Yo-kai Watch" theme has been invited to set up a themed amusement area, and there will also be unmissable concerts featuring big-name stars.
