New Instagrammable Spot in Taichung: A Dreamy Color Block Wonderland That Shines by Day and Glows by Night

A surreal block space has emerged outdoors at the Chiayi Museum of Fine Arts (Qinmei Art Museum)! This exhibition features large-scale geometric installation art made from purple, yellow, and blue acrylic color panels. Whether it's the sunlight during the day casting a candy-like burst of vibrant hues on the artworks, or the evening lights breathing dazzling new life into the pieces—both are breathtakingly beautiful.

The main installation piece in the exhibition, "Island of Glimmer," uses the area around the Qinmei Art Museum as one of its stations (named: Dream Island Express), connecting to both the Chiayi Eslite Bookstore and Golden Park on the left and right sides, forming a complete viewing route. The exhibition runs from the end of the year through early next year, providing visitors with an additional attraction to enjoy during Christmas and New Year’s, where they can snap beautiful photos as keepsakes.

Creator “Installation Wei” conceptualized the city as an ocean and developed two large outdoor installations: "Island of Glimmer" in the square and "Ocean Currents in the Forest" in the small cottage grassland area. The idea is that people are like drifting along ocean currents, floating amid the hustle and bustle of urban life, finally finding a serene sanctuary to catch their breath. The islands change with the day and night, producing dreamlike beauty.
