Mom’s Crafty Magic: Kids’ Doodles Transformed into Home Decor

I remember how every drawing I gave my mom when I was little would soon end up in the trash. (Sad~)

So, Knee-Mom came up with a win-win solution—to make both the kid and mom happy. I turned it into a super high-quality piece of art, and the method is simple and easy. All you need is some drawing paper, an empty box, and a few paints at home to create this beautiful yet unobtrusive artwork. Now, Bunny Girl keeps telling me every day that she painted it, and when guests come, they’re all amazed. So, this way, no one gets hurt, and everyone’s happy.

It’s always been Knee-Mom’s dream to draw with Bunny Girl, so the time has come—she’s 1 year and 9 months old. At this age, she doesn’t eat random things, knows how to play with toys, and understands how to operate them. It’s the perfect time, so letting her scribble around will definitely be super fun.

But when it was done, can you believe this was painted by Bunny Girl at just 1 year and 9 months old?? It really was painted by Bunny Girl~!! Knee-Mom never expected there to be a little artist in the house. She’s truly full of potential and adds new colors to our home corners.

But if you’re still worried about spending money on home decoration art, don’t buy it—save that money and let your kid create home art with us by wielding brushes together. It’s a great way to go. Also, let Knee-Mom share this fun parent-child activity with everyone. Knee-Mom is having so much fun during these playful parent-child moments!

Materials:

1. Drawing paper

2. One empty box (any unused cookie box or gift box will do)

3. Watercolor, watercolor brushes, marbles, sponge (these are all great drawing tools!)

4. Disposable plate (for mixing colors, can be thrown away after use)

What can you learn?

1. Learning to recognize colors

2. Learning to mix primary colors

3. Recognizing lines created by different tools

4. Teaching kids to be adaptable and use what’s around them—everything can be art!

5. Creating art through recycling!

Different tools, different line creations:

Watercolor brush – Using different tools also gives kids a sense of novelty. Knee-Mom first dipped the brush in water and paint and had Bunny Girl boldly paint. Each child will create different lines, which is really fun.
Marble – Rolling, rolling, rolling. By dipping the marble in color and then rolling it on the drawing paper, the lines form based on the random direction the marble rolls.
Finger tool – Just boldly use your fingers or palms to apply color. It’s a fantastic experience. It lets kids discover that different tools can create different lines. But my Bunny Girl is super afraid of getting dirty, constantly whining and wanting to wash her hands~ Really hopeless, huh!
Empty box – Prepare another unused box, like a regular cookie box or a gift box. Wrap the drawn picture around it, and you can hang it on the wall as art. Sign your name in the corner—it’s something you and your little one completed together, which is especially meaningful!
Friends who came to my house and saw this painting never expected it was something I did with Bunny Girl~
Knee-Mom enjoys the process: Let’s start with the watercolor brush!

Mixing colors. Let’s learn about color mixing~

Dad took random photos. Even hands can be drawing tools!

Bunny Girl kept wanting to wash her hands!

It’s done. It looks kind of bird-like—that’s the innocent strokes of a child. Knee-Mom will teach you how to make it beautiful~!

Find an unused box or cookie box, smaller than the paper, and wrap the box up.

Down~ down~!Isn't this pretty too? Who would’ve thought Bunny Girl could turn into an artist as well!

Since mom has an artistic streak, she couldn’t resist adding a few brushstrokes—doesn’t it look even better now? The other drawings by Bunny Girl are nice too. Mommy loves them all~

We signed our names along with Bunny Girl’s, to commemorate the happy days of painting together with mommy~ Mommy loves you!!

Don’t overlook children’s creativity—every little one is a tiny genius artist!!
