Feedback & Tips: Make a reservation in advance for the guided tour and DIY soap-making experience. Making your own shaped soap gives kids a great sense of achievement, and they have a lot of fun using it. But this factory is better suited for families who enjoy hands-on DIY. There are three guided tours and DIY sessions per day, and about two hours is enough time to spend there. Up!!
Address: No. 64-11, Baiji Rd., Sanxia Township, Taipei County
Phone: (02)2671-4400
Business Hours: AM 09:00 ~ PM 17:00
Feedback & Tips: Learn about cake bases and decorations. There are puzzle materials designed for kids to play with, which they really enjoy. A-Dian Cake is super generous with tastings—you can try almost any flavor you want. Free afternoon tea with coffee and herbal drinks, plus souvenirs (honey cake, red bean cake, and annual ring cake).
Address: No. 122, Meizhou 2nd Rd., Yilan City
Phone: 03-9286777
Feedback & Tips: Delicious xiaolongbao (soup dumplings), and groups can even try making them themselves. There are guided tours on weekends, with three one-hour sessions each day.
If I had time, I’d go listen to the tour and make crystal soap—the kids would definitely love it. The open kitchen shows the chefs constantly wrapping xiaolongbao. Don’t miss the snacks and desserts, though prices are a bit high.
Address: No. 35, Xingbang Rd., Guishan Industrial Park, Taoyuan County
Phone: 03-3610202
Business Hours: AM 11:00~ PM 21:00
Feedback & Tips: Snack prices aren’t expensive and are quite reasonable. Meals are all of mid-to-high quality. Kids have an outdoor play area, and before leaving we bought egg rolls and gummies at the shop—all at a 10% discount. Got a little bargain.
Address: No. 11, Section 1, Nan Gong Rd., Luzhu Township, Taoyuan
Phone: 03-3322406
Feedback & Tips: In autumn, the yellow-hued dried persimmon trend blows in—you can see hardworking staff peeling and trimming the persimmons. Originally astringent and hard to eat, these fruits are turned into refined, traditional, high-quality dried persimmons using traditional methods with sun-drying and wood-fired techniques, winning consumer favor. There's also a persimmon dye-making experience.

Phone: 03-5892352, 0911-242693, 0910-269180
Feedback & Tips: Rainbow pencils and extra-long ballpoint pens are their signature products. We bought some to take home as souvenirs, which also marked the end of our outdoor class. Being able to actually visit the factory and try a DIY workshop was way more fun than sitting in a classroom. It helped me understand the pencil-making process and was a very practical lesson.
Address: No. 330, Section 3, Zhongxing Rd., Wujie Township, Yilan County
Phone: 03-9653670 (by appointment only); Appointment hotline for groups and individuals: Pencil customization hotline: 03-9653671

Feedback & Tips: Since we were individual visitors coming to Guangxing Paper Mill, we didn’t have to pay an entrance fee, and there was a guided tour service. Loose individual visitors were roughly gathered into groups that left together. Puli has four major products known as the “Four Ws of Puli Women”—air, water, beautiful women, and alcohol. Thanks to the good water quality, it’s perfect for papermaking. The Cai Lun Classroom lets you do DIY and enjoy the fun of making paper. There are half-set and full-set DIY experiences. The full set starts from making pulp into paper, and the whole experience costs NT$220. Our child isn’t old enough yet, so we chose the half-set, which takes about 20 minutes and costs NT$100.
Address: No. 310, Tieshan Road, Tieshan Village, Puli Town, Nantou County
Phone: 049-291-3037. Free admission for garden visits.

Business Hours: 08:00–17:00
Reviews/Suggestions: Try the coffee, rye juice, and coffee-flavored liqueur produced by King Car. The second-floor Brose coffee meal options are just pre-packaged food to tide you over, but they’re really quite ordinary — we recommend coming just for the coffee.

Phone: 03-922-0488 ext. 112, 113

Reviews/Suggestions: The old tea factory retains the machinery and tools used in tea production, along with a strong spirit of Hakka perseverance — overcoming any challenge. Visiting after the briefing lets you explore this historic tea factory. I love the rich tea aroma that greets you upon entry. Also, many of the large old machines are still functional.

Phone: (03) 5872-051
Reviews/Suggestions: Admission is NT$100 per person, which can be used for any purchases in the park. Upon entering, you’ll notice the scent of herbs, and there are also some fragrance products for sale, with mid-to-high pricing.
Address: No. 650, Neicheng Road, Neicheng Village, Yuanshan Township, Yilan County
Phone: 03-933-4503
Business Hours: Daily 09:00–18:00; theme restaurant until 21:00.
Reviews/Suggestions: A wide variety of candies. I had decided not to buy any, but couldn’t resist the colorful array and all the different types of lollipops. What’s your favorite color?

Reviews/Suggestions: Free “refreshing kumquat tea” is offered, along with various tasting samples, allowing you to fully experience the warmth and sweetness of Orange Village. The Orange Village kumquat preserve DIY includes everything from “fruit selection,” “pickling,” “pricking,” “rinsing,” “blanching,” “vacuum sugar preservation,” “hot-air drying,” to “hygienic packaging” — all visible at the visitor factory.
Address: No. 33, Meizhou Second Road, Yilan City, Yilan County 26053
Phone: 03-928-5758
Business Hours: AM 08:00 – PM 06:00
Reviews/Suggestions: Each ticket allows you to try five DIY activities: (1) one print transfer artwork, (2) three colored pencils, (3) one shaped crayon, (4) one multicolor crayon set, (5) one body painting session. Weekdays have fewer visitors, so you can enjoy each activity without rush, though there’s no air conditioning and the machines can make it a bit stuffy, so it’s less ideal for long stays — winter visits might be better.
Address: No. 7, Dexing Sixth Road, Su’ao Town, Yilan County (within Longde Industrial Park)
Phone: 03-9907101
Business Hours: AM 08:00 ~ PM 17:00
Reviews & Suggestions: You can enjoy cherry blossoms right within the park. If you’re just entering without participating in any DIY activities, admission is free. The painting activity is more suitable for elementary school kids and above; otherwise, parents will need to help out. I didn’t take many photos because I was busy helping fix the little yellow duck that got painted black.

Reviews & Suggestions: Step into the time tunnel of Bubble Coca-Cola World, where numerous little stories form a wall of displays, including classic exhibits — all dream items for soda enthusiasts. Although you can’t actually go on the production line, you can follow the animated bubbles for a tour and see just how magical it is, from bottle preforms to warehouse storage — the whole process.

Reviews & Suggestions: Yilan’s first “Yilan Cake” comes from the creatively ingenious baker — Liu Denghui, who broke away from traditional methods by blending local culture and incorporating regional specialties. He was the first to reinvent the traditional ox-tongue pastry by making an ultra-thin, 0.1 cm milk-flavored ox-tongue pastry entirely by hand. The Yilan Cake Invention Museum is a great place to take a short rest — about 30 minutes is enough — and can also serve as a nice stopover spot!!

Phone: 03-9905999
Business Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM ~ 6:00 PM
Reviews & Suggestions: Created by the same architectural team behind the National Museum of Marine Biology and Aquarium and the Flower Expo’s Dancing Butterflies Pavilion, its exterior resembles a premium handmade chocolate bar split open with melted chocolate oozing out. Upon entering, be sure to book a DIY session at the customer service center first, as the area isn’t very bustling, so you can also ask them to arrange transportation for you.
