       For Summer Use

It is a single-layer tent, quite ventilated. It consists of a rainfly with a nylon base layer, making it very airy—suitable for low-altitude camping. It can withstand light rain. The design prioritizes ventilation over weather resistance. Typically, the top is a ventilated mesh screen, and the bottom is made of nylon fabric. It includes an outer rainfly, often in light colors to prevent excessive internal heat from sunlight. However, it cannot withstand strong winds. The outer fly only offers protection against light rain.

For Three-Season Use

This refers to tents used outside of snow season. The difference lies in the poles—it can resist strong winds and light snow accumulation. Most such tents have a breathable nylon inner tent and a highly waterproof outer tent. The door is double-layered, with a mesh inner layer that allows moisture inside the tent to escape. The door is larger in size. This type of tent is suitable for trips lasting from three days to one week, preferably in forested areas or open campsites that are not overly exposed.

For Four-Season Use

The materials of these tents are sturdier, capable of supporting snow loads and withstanding strong winds. They often feature double doors for easier access in harsh weather conditions. The design takes into account gear storage during snowy conditions and whether there’s enough space inside and outside the tent for cooking. They are well-suited for blizzard conditions in snowy areas below the tree line.

For High-Altitude Use

Most high-altitude environments experience very strong air currents. The tent poles must be able to support and resist sudden severe weather changes. The tent design should cater to the needs of climbers or hikers—lightweight for easy carrying, yet comfortable to live in.

Tarp Shelter

A tarp shelter is a very lightweight and low-cost camping solution. It can be used in low-altitude forests or sub-alpine forest environments. However, it offers poor protection against heat dissipation, wind, or insect intrusion. Plastic tarps are easy to set up—ideally, poke holes in the four corners for easy draping. Otherwise, you can wrap small rocks with the corners and tie them with thin ropes. As for tent stakes, small branches can be used as makeshift ones. The ideal size is 9x12 feet for two people, or about 11x14 feet for around three people.
