Remember the classic manga *Dragon Ball*? Now, both kids and adults have the chance to experience the show’s iconic moves firsthand!Through scientific demonstrations, you can not only watch but also try out the techniques yourself—making this a fun and educational winter vacation highlight for families.
Learn scientific concepts through fun anime characters and moves—it’s learning made entertaining. And more importantly, dads are bound to be pretty "excited" too.
“Kame... Hame... HAAAAA!” Get into position, gather energy in your hands, and follow the instructions to launch the Kamehameha wave to destroy the robot! For fans of *Dragon Ball* young and old, does that line bring back memories? This classic manga (and anime), which accompanied many dads’ childhoods, is now celebrating its 30th anniversary. The “Dragon Ball Special Exhibition: Science Experience Camp,” which kicked off in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture—the hometown of creator Akira Toriyama—has made its first overseas stop in Taipei! The exhibition will run until April 6 at the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park. Even the dads must be getting excited by now.
Unlike typical anime exhibitions, the Dragon Ball Science Experience Camp isn’t just for looking—with hands-on experiences playing a key role. The exhibition mainly showcases the scientific principles behind items and moves from *Dragon Ball*, featuring high-tech interactive devices that let visitors step into Goku’s shoes and get involved. For example, with the Nimbus Cloud, brainwave tests control its movement—if kids get too nervous, the cloud might just refuse to budge.
The entire venue is designed around the Capsule Corporation’s special research lab and is divided into seven research zones. In addition to trying out the Nimbus Cloud and Kamehameha, there are exhibits like the convenience capsule concept, which introduces the miniaturization and personalization of computers, and a life-sized manga character “No. 18.” Every corner brings back memories for fans. There are also activities like filling out study sheets and collecting stamps. While guests enjoy taking photos, they’re also encouraged to read the informative panels on the walls, learning many fun facts along the way. It’s a great opportunity to truly experience *Dragon Ball* through science, making it perfect for family outings.
Want to transform into a Super Saiyan? Want to unleash a Kamehameha? Or maybe join the World Martial Arts Tournament? The real-life Dragon Ball Science Experience Camp is packed with surprises.
