When the weather isn’t too hot, having a picnic on the grass, accompanied by a gentle breeze and warm yet not scorching sunlight, is simply the most comfortable thing ever. And for families with little kids, going on a picnic is much easier than going to a kid-friendly restaurant. Young children can’t sit still for long and are prone to falling or bumping into things. Even if the restaurant has a play area, you still have to follow them closely to prevent fights, injuries, or accidents. But on a wide-open grassy field, kids can run around and play freely with everyone else, making it much more relaxing and enjoyable. As long as you keep an eye on them, moms can leisurely sit, sip tea, and chat away. It’s truly wonderful. So, by gathering like-minded friends who also love picnics, you can spontaneously head out for a picnic. Before the weather turns cold, everyone can just bring their favorite foods and drinks, bring the kids to a university campus, find a shady tree, spread out a picnic mat, and get ready to enjoy a happy afternoon.

Here are a few key points to keep in mind for a smooth and enjoyable picnic:[Spring Picnic Fun]7 Easy Tips for a Hassle-Free Picnic
For food, you can bring items like pre-cut fruit, prepared salads, grilled chicken wings or drumsticks, sandwiches and bread, small cakes, cookies, pizza, sushi, etc. For drinks, you can use a cold water dispenser or large bottles. Whether store-bought or homemade, just prepare small paper cups labeled with each person’s name to avoid mix-ups—and they can be reused too. (How eco-friendly is that~)

Also bring essentials like napkins (or tissue paper), wet wipes, and trash bags to handle any small emergencies that may arise.

There are many beautiful wicker picnic baskets available, but I find those with insulation (both hot and cold retention) that can be folded up to be more practical.

Other useful items include foldable knives, eating utensils, individual bowls or plates, food containers, and even a couple of large plates to transfer food from bento boxes or containers onto for a nicer presentation.

This way, everyone can sit comfortably, and kids will have enough space to play (like playing house). If you’re not used to sitting on mats for long, you might also want to bring a cushion or foldable chair.

Bring extra fun items like bubble solution, bubble wands, various balls, frisbees, and even bikes or balance bikes for the kids to play with.

And don’t forget a small first-aid ointment for immediate treatment of minor injuries.
When’s the next picnic? Can’t wait~
