Ever since we had Nainai, Xiaozhe became a family bike (with a child seat), and we can only ride in spring or autumn—not too hot or too cold,
This time, we rode the Yatan Divine Bike Path (which runs through Shengan, Tanzih, and Daya)—a route we hadn’t taken with Nainai before. Along the way, we passed the trendy new family park in Shengan District—Zhenqian Ren’ai Park, right next to the Qingquangang Air Force Base. Xiaozhe rode the bike with Nainai, while I rode my own Up—we set off!![Family Outing]Play in the Sand and Watch Planes by the Qingquangang Air Force BaseWe passed by a patch of flowers (I’m not sure what kind)—so we took pictures first. Nainai is already used to riding like this and loves singing and feeling the breeze. Along the way, we passed some tanks and, of course, took more photos. The wind was really cool that day. The Tanzay-Shen Greenway was built on an old military railway line, stretching about 14 kilometers. It’s a mostly flat and easy cycling path, with just a few gentle climbs—but even that left this not-so-active mom a little breathless. At major intersections like Chongde Road, Minsheng Road, and Zhongqing Road, bike overpasses were built to avoid traffic, making it much safer. Living here must be quite unique, as residents’ windows are close to the bike paths—you can see cyclists right from your window. Riding through the green tunnel—because we were near farmland and chicken coops, we quickly passed through; there was a bit of a smell. The Tanzay-Shen Bike Path is less crowded than the Houfeng-Dongfeng Bike Path, so there’s no feeling of being packed with too many bikes or people. You can also speed up without worrying about bikes blocking your way.
The scenery has a unique charm, offering a more relaxing and laid-back vibe. By evening, besides cyclists, there were also people out walking or power-walking. Before we knew it, we reached our destination for the day—Zhenqian Ren’ai Park. And it’s free!!

It’s another new hotspot for kids to go wild!! Located next to the Qingquangang Base, the park is designed with an air force theme. The welcome square’s landmark is a model of three IDF fighter jets (ugh, I didn’t manage to get a photo). Walking over to the “Flight Avenue” scenic bridge, you’ll see a large open plaza in front of the park. Any open space becomes a paradise for kids to run, jump, and play. There’s a small hill where many kids use it as a slide or roller-skating rink. Zhenqian Ren’ai Park preserved its original 113 trees, so the whole park is lush and green. The park features garden-themed pathways, an ecological pond, plantings, and the most popular spot—the bunker-shaped sandbox area. It gets super crowded on weekends. I originally thought I’d just hide in the cave-like area and watch Nainai play, but since it was her first time, she insisted I follow her around like a bodyguard?! The entire sandbox is surrounded by slopes. Wearing shorts might lead to some scrapes, so be careful. Nainai is already a pro at sliding down these slightly sloped slides—she loves the thrill. Weekends are really crowded; it might be better on weekdays. There are stone slides too—just look at Nainai’s expression and you’ll know how much fun she’s having. There’s also a huge climbing area, and Nainai loves playing “Spider-Man.” Honestly, I really encourage her to try all kinds of physical activities. Success!! She ran off to a steeper slope nearby, ready to slide down—those edges are a bit steeper, and she slid down that slope many times. She absolutely loves it!! The sand here is fine and doesn’t stick, so a quick pat cleans it right off. There are plenty of physical activity facilities. At one point, Nainai climbed halfway and said her hands hurt—so she quit.

Playing in the sand!! That’s the main highlight of this area. There’s a water tap nearby, so no worries about cleaning up afterward. Inside the bunker-shaped sandbox, there are many plane-themed decorations. After playing enough, we continued along the Tanzay-Shen Bike Path. *Shengan District Zhenqian Ren’ai Park* Address: No. 1668-5, Zhongshan Road, Taichung City.
