There’s nothing better than taking your kids out to a vast grassy field where they can run and play to their heart’s content. In summer, being able to play in the water makes it even better. Previously, Rongrong introduced the Dragon Slide at Longtan, which is filled with cool water every summer, allowing kids to slide down while also splashing around and playing in the water~
However, due to the severe drought affecting the reservoirs this year, the schedule might be delayed. We can only hope for some rain from the heavens to alleviate the reservoir crisis. But space is always limited—when too many people are playing in the water, the fun gets diluted by half. Are there any better spots in Taoyuan? Yes, indeed—today’s featured location: “Longtan Sports Park”

Longtan Park is surrounded by Section 2 of Dachang Road, Beilong Road, Park Road, and the Jianxing intersection… Those who have read Rongrong’s previous introduction to Taoyuan’s mountain route will know that this area was originally a cemetery. Thanks to urban planning and integration, it has now been transformed into this sports park. It’s perfect for a stroll with kids, and for little Iya, who loves to run around everywhere, this place is like her giant playground~ The park is lined with many kapok trees, though it’s rare to see them all lush and full. If they were in full bloom, the scenery here would surely rival that of Baihe in Tainan. The surrounding amenities are quite convenient, with snacks, restaurants, and two fast-food chains… all nearby. The facilities are really good. Sometimes, small stalls are set up around the park, and these large inflatable play areas are especially loved by many children.
Aside from letting the kids run around here, spotting military fighter jets and tanks is another highlight of the park. Compared to having them watch cartoon helicopters and tanks on TV, the real-life experience is undoubtedly more thrilling. But climbing is prohibited, though—no one wants accidental falls and injuries. %Jibihuiwofei?Qiang?Yuanhuanronglinafang?%Jirehuangdaoxingshuo??Ai?Bihuaili∫Bu?Yuanhuangchangni≌Sanmaozhanmeichun???Bubuyongfeia⑶Hanbengshuo?⒁Yuebakeduyijiaofeiai#8230;.Every drop of sweat shed by these hardworking students represents a small step in their growth. All they care about is perfecting their movements, regardless of how much they sweat. Chasing their dreams, it’s their perseverance that leads to success.
I really love the arrangement of these two rows of trees—they create such a comforting atmosphere. Just feel the cool breeze brought by the wind, with the trees providing shade. Even little Iya sits here and refuses to leave, constantly saying to us: Sit, sit~~ Sit, sit!! She’s truly adorable. This child, Iya, is quite unique. So far, she hasn’t shown a strong preference for any toys. As long as there’s an open grassy field for her to run around, that’s when she’s happiest. Occasionally, she’ll just sit quietly off to the side, and seeing a child lost in thought like that makes us realize how much she’s growing.

Water continuously flows from the top reservoir area down into the expansive lower section, making it a prime spot that many parents choose to bring their children to. However, due to this year’s severe drought, whether it opens on schedule depends on the weather. It used to be a popular spot during the best season, but now it has dried up a lot, which has also become the favorite splash zone for nearby residents during the holidays. My friends and I often come here to play, and sometimes we even lie down in the shallow stream and chat. There’s something really magical about the water flowing through the rocks here, and you never know when a fixed time might bring a sudden surge. It’s suitable for all ages, and my friends even played the hair-washing game at the small waterfall area XD
Little Iya had a great time playing with the older kids %The best part was when the kids ran around happily, and it’s the greatest reward parents can ask for %/p>
