Ever since becoming a mom, my life’s focus and conversations have all revolved around the kids—I can’t even remember the last time I went on a trip. Then, over the weekend, a colleague organized a two-day, one-night quick getaway to Jiufen, and me, who hadn’t traveled in ages, felt as thrilled as winning the lottery. Without hesitation, I immediately said yes.
While transferring between trains, I saw my colleague pull out their phone to check transportation info and nearby food options. But the app they were using was one I’d never heard of. When I asked, they told me it was called “LeYou Taiwan.” After their enthusiastic demo, I learned about this app. I don’t know if it’s because I’ve been out of touch with society for too long since becoming a mom, or if the app is just that thoughtful—but I genuinely found it super convenient to have dining, clothing, lodging, transportation, education, and entertainment all integrated into one app.

So the saying “technology truly stems from human laziness” isn’t just talk.
Once we arrived in Jiufen, us moms were like beasts long held back—we shopped like crazy. Let’s just say shopping is truly in our female DNA. But taking kids out always brings up the issue of bathroom breaks. My kid suddenly said he needed to use the toilet, and just as I was wondering where to find one, my colleague immediately said, “The ‘LeYou Taiwan’ App can also search for nearby restrooms based on your location!” It was soooo convenient!! It’s truly an essential travel tool, and it completely saved me the trouble of carrying my kid around while searching for a toilet. Moms will definitely understand… how painful it is when nature calls urgently.
And so, throughout the rest of our trip, all of us moms instinctively opened the “LeYou Taiwan” App to look for discounts at nearby shops. We discovered that famous Jiufen spots like Lai Po Po’s Taro Balls and Auntie’s Teahouse were listed on the app—and not only that. We each picked the deals we liked, used the app to guide us to the shops, showed the discount info on our phones, and instantly enjoyed the offers from the stores. Whether it was food, souvenirs, or gifts, there were so many great deals, each one super tempting—it felt just like shopping during a department store anniversary sale. I almost lost my mind because the deals were just too good. I ended up bringing home 10 bowls of taro balls without realizing it… (of course, I only went crazy because there were discounts).

To be honest, having such a convenient app is truly a heartwarming little joy for moms like us, who are usually busy taking care of family and kids and rarely have time to plan trips. Being able to go on a spontaneous trip anytime really is a lovely little blessing.
And the app has discounts for shops all across Taiwan’s commercial districts, plus real-time positioning. Once, when I went to Gongguan to buy dinner, the app actually pushed store discounts from the Gongguan area to me, along with clearance sale info. That’s absolutely killer for housewives.
Finally, to welcome the arrival of winter... want something warm? Come and invite your family and friends to download the app for free and join the draw now. For more event details, see https://goo.gl/a44wnc
