Winter came late this year. It wasn’t until the end of November that we finally felt some coolness. For a while, we were stuck in that awkward in-between temperature where it was hard to transition seasons. Now, we can finally start organizing our closets and switch to winter wear — isn’t that just wonderful?
There are so many holidays in winter — December has Christmas, and then there’s Lunar New Year. With the year-end anniversary sales, moms can take advantage of the discounts to get new clothes for their kids.
While visiting the “Best Pals” store, I discovered there are so many great promotions this time!In addition to discounts on children’s clothing, there’s even a membership points program that gives away Kindai cookware — what a wickedly tempting plan for moms!

I absolutely love this ELLE set. A black sleeveless dress paired with a red knitted cardigan on the outside looks very elegant. The little Eiffel Tower embroidery on the cardigan and the colorful trim inside the buttons add a playful touch to the solid-colored outerwear. The overall look has a very “Taiwanese good daughter-in-law” vibe, and with Sister Bao’s shy smile, it almost feels like someone could come proposing any minute (Dad turns away to wipe away tears). Add a scarf and hat, and it takes on a whole different feel — perfect for a Christmas party!
My usual style for dressing the kids leans more toward an American casual vibe, and I really love the outfit Brother Xie is wearing this time!
This one — a green jacket with deep blue accents — I really like. It balances the deep tones of autumn and winter without being too jarring, giving off a slightly gentlemanly casual style!
Khaki-colored trousers are also a must-have item every season. They’re not only stylish but also dirt-resistant. As a mom of a super active little boy, when buying clothes I also have to consider that stains won’t show up easily. Otherwise, they’ll get dirty all over in no time and become unwearable XD
Moms with both a son and a daughter, or a brother and a sister, probably have had the same dilemma as me. It’s not always easy to coordinate matching sibling outfits. In these cases, picking out items like jackets or vests to pair together can easily create that sibling look!
And kids usually adapt to it really well too. The weather right now isn’t yet “consistently cold.” Sometimes in the morning when you go out, the wind makes it feel really chilly, but by noon it’s warm enough for short sleeves. Dressing kids in “onion-layer” outfits is the most suitable approach!A thin long-sleeve top paired with a lightweight down vest makes for a great onion-layer combo. When it warms up, you can take it off, stuff it into a storage bag — it’s compact and doesn’t take up space. The vest itself is very light, so putting it in a schoolbag won’t burden the child either. There are solid colors and plaid patterns, making it extremely versatile! There are also adult sizes available for creating parent-child matching outfits too!
“Sell matches, hey!” I really wanted to dub a line for the little tyke sitting tiredly on the display rack. Getting a cute cape coat for my daughter has always been my dream. This hooded cape from ELLE is absolutely gorgeous! It’s the favorite piece from this try-on session!
Made of warm woolen plaid fabric, with a simple cut and design, the soft fuzz on the edge of the hood, the leather buckle on the collar, and the delicate little logo — wow! The details are really well done! Super perfect for Christmas, giving off a romantic vibe like you might run into snow when you step out (heart)
Lastly, let me share a few of the clothes I brought home this time. Compared to Sister Bao, Brother Xie has way fewer clothes. It’s so easy for moms to overspend on girls’ clothes, so this time at “Best Pals,” I picked out a super cool SNOOPY jacket for Brother Xie. It has a street-style graffiti design, and it really catches the eye. Even though it’s a cotton jacket, it’s quite thick. Brother Xie wore it while riding his motorcycle and didn’t feel cold at all — plus, he looked super stylish der!
For his sister, I picked her a basic top — black with embroidered hearts, which is a very versatile piece. I also added ELLE’s red-heart tights and a little tutu skirt she picked herself. So cute!
That day when I had her wear this set out, when she got home she didn’t want to change out of it. Sister Bao, who has never been a big fan of black, straight-up said she wanted to wear this set to school the next day because it looked so nice~ Hahaha, and she actually ended up wearing the same set on both Sunday and Monday! That’s how much she loves it!
