Our family came to the Pastel counter on the fourth floor of Zhonghe Global Mall again. I really like Pastel’s clothing because it tends to be more casual, but they also have some classy and feminine styles. The prices are more affordable compared to other brands, and it’s easy to reach the spending threshold for their membership card.

P.S. Bonus tip: Joining the Pastel membership gives you access to exclusive discounts.

Best has a wide range of international brands, such as well-known names like ELLE, FILA, LEE, and SNOOPY. There are also global brands, like the recently released first SNOOPY movie, and an entire section dedicated to SNOOPY series clothing.

Wear something new for the New Year!! Let your kids have the most adorable New Year’s greeting outfits

Since it’s almost Chinese New Year, there are so many cute red dresses—just looking at them brings so much festive cheer. The shop assistant recommended this adorable hooded cape jacket, saying it’s a blogger-favorite and selling really well. It’s absolutely adorable!! And the actual item feels even better in quality than the photos show. I immediately put it on Pickle, and her cuteness level doubled. Since it’s a cape, it’s very versatile, the bright red is eye-catching and also keeps you warm. Of course, it’s perfect for wearing during the New Year too.

The cape is tailored so it doesn’t restrict movement, making it great for active little girls. Then we tried it on Spinach—wow!! She looked just like Little Red Riding Hood from Andersen’s fairy tale. With the hood on, she looked even more the part—it’s just all kinds of cute. Watch out, Big Bad Wolf might want to “Up” her!!

Because it’s the New Year, I thought I’d pick out some dresses for them, but turns out almost-5-year-old Pickle is a bit older now, so she needed to wear clothes from another section of ELLE. That section is for ages 5–12, so the styles are a bit more mature, practically children’s version of Korean fashion, which felt way too grown-up for just-5-year-old Pickle. In the end, I finally found this cute lace-trimmed vest dress.

The hem of the dress is designed to look like a budding flower, giving off a very cute, slightly puffy skirt effect. This dress also comes in Spinach’s size. The two sisters in matching outfits—it’s obvious they both love this red dress.

But honestly, I don’t really like buying matching outfits for them because it’s not cost-effective—you can just pass the older one down to the younger when she outgrows it. Buying two of the same style is kind of a waste too. So later, I picked out this separate red striped pleated vest dress for Spinach. I think this one is also super cute, and it suits Spinach’s age better.

Actually, when it was hanging on the rack it looked kinda plain, but once Spinach put it on, the quality really shone through. It has a bit of a traditional Korean garment vibe to it, and the pleated skirt design makes the whole outfit less boring, and it’s executed beautifully—there’s zero sense of mismatch. Finally, the shop assistant brought out two outerwear pieces for the twins to try on—wow!! Once they put the jackets on, their whole vibe became so upscale, and they’re super warm too. If you’re planning to go to a cold country, you could bring one along—very suitable.

After super hard decision-making, we ultimately chose dresses for them—we still feel dresses are a bit more practical. The day after buying the new dresses, they were begging to wear them out. Looks like they couldn’t wait for the New Year. Now I just hope they don’t get the new clothes dirty before the holiday arrives.

Spinach wore a little scarf, which looked super cute too. The dresses we picked this time should still be wearable next year. Both the dresses and the outerwear are really pretty—it was seriously hard to choose. Now I’m just worried they’ll like the dresses too much and end up getting them dirty or worn out before the New Year. Then I might have to make another trip to Best (hopefully not...). If you're planning to buy new clothes for your little ones for the New Year, check out Best for some great options. They’ve got really nice new clothes and outerwear for both boys and girls.
