Themed restaurants are all the rage these days, with a wide variety of cartoon characters drawing crowds. But can you imagine a themed restaurant in Taipei that not only boasts a dazzling array of cartoon characters but is entirely decorated with balloons? The “Party Balloon Theme Restaurant” is Taiwan’s first and only balloon-themed eatery, combining balloon art with creative cuisine to leave every visitor in awe – and reservation calls keep pouring in!

Located at the foot of Yangmingshan in Shilin District, Taipei City, Party Balloon Theme Restaurant hopes visitors can enjoy balloon art and delicious food while escaping the hustle and bustle of the city – and take a moment to relax and admire the outdoor scenery.

The restaurant’s signature concept is the fusion of balloons and cuisine, and the owners certainly have impressive backgrounds. Party Balloon Theme Restaurant is the brainchild of Mr. Tsai Chi-han, founder of the well-known Yipin Huadiao Chicken, and Mr. Chen Cheng-hui, a balloon artist with nearly 20 years of experience and a world balloon art championship under his belt. Together, they form a dream team aiming to promote both fine dining and balloon art in Taiwan.

Party Balloon Restaurant has three floors, with bright and comfortable dining areas. The first floor features a bar area, perfect for those who want coffee or a drink. The third floor offers private booking options, ideal for gatherings or birthday parties. You can even request a custom balloon theme for your event and take the balloon decorations home afterward. Aside from the monthly balloon theme changes, the restaurant also shines with its Italian dishes that blend tradition and innovation. Tsai Chi-han is extremely particular about the food – using quality ingredients and offering creative pairings that always impress guests. The average cost per person is around NT$200–300.
