I haven’t come across such an eye-catching place for family fun in ages!(Screams XD) I’ve always known about the super-long “roller slide” in Okinawa, Japan, but I just couldn’t persuade Big B to take me there again with a good enough excuse, so I could only quietly keep the dream in my heart. Until recently, when I stumbled upon the internet and discovered that Tainan also has the “roller slide” I’ve been longing for—isn’t this helping me achieve my dream earlier? (Laughs)
[Family Travel]Endless Fun on the Roller Slide: Jiāfú Temple in Tainan

The 300-year-old “Jiāfú Temple” enshrines Guanyin Bodhisattva, Goddess of Childbirth, and Heavenly Holy Mother, making it a perfect spot for families to pray and play together without worrying about taboos. Meanwhile, the temple’s parking lot spans five hectares and is generously designed, fully understanding the biggest hassle for parents driving with kids—parking.

So considerate!(Bow) As soon as we parked and entered the temple, what caught our eyes was the 40-meter-long “roller slide” that looks like a conveyor belt!

There were quite a few families visiting that day, but that didn’t dampen our determination to play XD. Before queuing, you can grab a wooden board provided by the temple at the entrance of the “roller slide” to sit on, so your hips or lower back won’t get overly strained. Such protective measures are something you’d have to figure out on your own in Okinawa!

When lining up, if you’re bringing younger kids, be careful when climbing the stairs with the wooden board! To avoid tripping and getting hurt—otherwise, you’d miss out on Jiāfú Temple’s kind gesture!

Sit tight, get ready, and with hearts brimming with joy, let’s slide!

Even Big B had a blast playing XD!

The slight incline means the speed isn’t too fast, especially for kids who weigh less than adults—they can relax even more.

Two round trips without any walking around—it’s so addictive and easy to enjoy!

Before long, Hehe could ride it alone, going back and forth to his heart’s content XD. (It’s free, no need to push this hard!Haha)

Seeing Hehe having so much fun made me itchy to join in too—I went totally wild playing as well.

The mom’s laughter in the video is really loud, please watch with caution.

Besides the eye-catching “roller slide,” Jiāfú Temple also has plenty of outdoor play equipment—it’s truly a kids’ paradise.

The spacious Jiāfú Temple also has a barbecue area, with washbasins nearby and a very clean environment. I heard they only charge a cleaning fee—if you need details, you can call to inquire and arrange!

If you visit on a weekend, don’t worry about getting hungry after playing to exhaustion—there are also mobile food stalls nearby. Have a feast and you’ll be full of energy again in no time.

Whether you visit on a weekday or weekend, Jiāfú Temple also has a cotton candy machine where you can DIY. The candy wrappers come in various colors for you to choose freely, and the cost is just NT$10.

There’s also an aquatic landscape here—not just a large pond but also fish, turtles, geese, and other aquatic creatures and birds. It lets kids wind down after playing, and there are coin-operated fish feed dispensers for some quiet observation and feeding.

On my first visit to Jiāfú Temple, I didn’t notice that Hehe had picked up a dried, fallen leaf from the ground. Because of the sudden movement, his pinky got cut and started bleeding—it turned out to be a thorny Pandanus leaf. The sight of blood made Hehe panic and cry instantly, but luckily it was just a superficial wound, the best possible outcome. Through this travelogue, I’d like to remind everyone to stay safe!
