Today, Sis Xi is taking you all to Baoyilin. Hey—don’t get it wrong, it’s not the traditional Chinese medicine clinic “Po Chi Lam” from the Wong Fei-hung stories... But this Baoyilin has lots of treasures waiting for you to explore!

The Baoyilin we’re sharing today is a resource recycling and reuse park established by the Taichung City Environmental Protection Bureau. It is also the first multifunctional eco-education park in Taiwan. Here, furniture discarded by citizens—whether tables, chairs, beds, sofas, or large and small cabinets—is repaired and refurbished, then given new life at Baoyilin. These items are then offered for public purchase at about 30–40% of their original market price. And that’s not all… Thanks to the creative ideas of the staff, recycled advertising boards and scaffolding have been transformed into bamboo fence corridors, paired with lush green lawns, small ponds, and flower gardens of sunflowers and roses... creating a beautiful recreational space for the public.You Throw, I Pick, Recycle and Reuse: The Free Eco-Education Park at BaoyilinShh... Let me tell you a secret. This was actually an accidental discovery for Sis Xi. I happened to pass by this Baoyilin Eco-Education Park, and curiosity got the better of me, so I went in for a look. After walking around and exploring, I was genuinely moved. It turns out that there are people silently taking the items we discard, repairing and refurbishing them, and giving them new life. Are you interested? Then let Sis Xi take you on a tour of the Baoyilin Eco-Education Park. Let’s go!
The Baoyilin Eco-Education Park is located at No. 333, Section 2, Huandong East Road, Beitun District, Taichung City. The road is easy to access, and parking is convenient. Let’s explore the park together soon. The “Baoyilin Eco-Education Park” is also the first multifunctional eco-education park in the country, featuring six major functions:
1. Furniture regeneration, health diagnosis, and sales center; 2. Resource recycling art exhibition;
3. Resource recycling DIY classroom;
4. Environmental protection promotion and environmental education tours;
5. Eco-park leisure and recreation;
6. Second-hand goods sales and appliance clinic. Thanks to the creativity of the staff, the park is filled with recycled art installations. Paired with lush green lawns, children’s play areas, a small pond, and colorful flower gardens, it’s perfect for public leisure and fun. You can even find and buy regenerated furniture at Baoyilin, experiencing and feeling the charm of the park. You might just find some unexpected treasures and surprises. (Information sourced from the internet) After parking the car... Sis Xi and Martin stood in front of the park’s guide map, carefully studying where to begin. Hmm... Where should we start our tour? For the Baoyilin Eco-Education Park’s office hours and furniture sales times, please refer to the information in the image to avoid a wasted trip ^^ Wow wow wow, just looking at this combination house covered in soft, warm patterns makes my heart feel warm before I’ve even begun exploring the park. %The Jiabu area seems like a very unique place. Although the facilities like the information booth and play equipment aren’t particularly flashy... I never expected that after walking a full circle, I’d come to realize how significant Baoyilin Eco-Education Park really is. %At the Jiabu area, I took a photo that captured a moment of joy, as colored CDs were used to decorate the combination house’s walls, instantly bringing a dull surface to vibrant life... The distinctive buildings here made Sis Xi exclaim over and over how pretty they were... Look at this pair of turquoise big shoe designs, inlaid with discarded shoes—haven’t they been given a new lease on life? The park uses discarded items to paint beautiful scenes... Watching these, Sis Xi was truly moved. How about you? These waste materials from recycling have been turned into art pieces, showcasing the reuse of resources and reflecting a spirit of gratitude and love for belongings. This is what protecting the Earth through environmentalism is all about. Haha, Sis Xi definitely left a lot of memories in the park because it was such a photogenic spot... every single corner...

Sis Xi guesses that this pair of stone lions might have been leftover from a temple demolition, but now... Baoyilin has become their second home. Don’t doubt it—there’s even a small Chinese-style corridor in the park, haha. Next... Let’s head into the furniture display area to see what treasures we can find. All the furniture displayed here has either been discarded by the public or recycled through environmental efforts. Thanks to the skilled hands of the Baoyilin team, these pieces have been repaired and given a brand-new look. Not only does this reduce the volume of bulky waste, but it also extends the life of the furniture and increases its value. Many informed visitors come here to dig for hidden gems and great deals. Whether it’s tables, chairs, beds, sofas, or cabinets of various sizes, after being repaired and refurbished at Baoyilin, they are sold to the public at about 30–40% of the original market price, putting resource recycling and reuse into practice and embodying a spirit of gratitude, love for belongings, and environmental protection. This area is known as the Gratitude Zone, where you’ll find a wide range of products—toys, appliances, clothes, books—all second-hand recycled items!

%Every corner of this eco-education park is adorned with different themed decorations, and each one can make you feel the vibrant atmosphere of the park. The dazzling totems under the sunlight—get up close and you’ll see they’re made from pieces of discarded CDs stuck onto the walls. Who knew life could be so artistic? The True Treasure Gallery displays non-sale items... Come on, let’s go in and see these precious non-sale items. Yes, these are vintage-style pieces of furniture... Furniture that has regained its shine, giving off the faint scent of Hinoki or camphor wood, instantly making Sis Xi feel immersed in a strong sense of nostalgia.

Finally... heading to the far back corner of the park, this is the furniture repair workshop. Each piece of discarded furniture or item is given new life here in the factory. After walking around the Baoyilin Eco-Education Park, Sis Xi realized that these novel works of art are all made from such resources. I never thought it could be done this way, but some people are quietly doing it—and that’s moving. As today’s article comes to an end, Sis Xi highly recommends this meaningful educational attraction. I believe recycling and regeneration is a challenge every person on Earth must face, and Baoyilin is a great place to reflect on the issue. When you have time, why not pay a visit to Baoyilin and do your part for the land we live on?
