The most beautiful coastal branch line, the Shen’ao Line, was reopened due to the National Museum of Marine Science and Technology. Trains used to only go as far as Haoke Station, but the extension to Badouzi Station, after many ups and downs, is finally set to open at the end of November 2016. The public will finally have the chance to take a train and see this stunning coastal station.
“Badouzi Station” is located beside the coastal highway, nestled against the mountains and facing the sea, offering scenery as breathtaking as that of Taitung’s Duoliang Station, earning it the nickname “Duoliang Station of Northern Taiwan.”

Bao Bao Wen was thrilled to hear that Badouzi Station is complete and the Shen’ao branch line is finally reaching the coastline. Since its reopening to Haoke Station in 2014, expectations have been high. With the towering, protruding mountain ranges of the Northeast Coast, having a train run through them will surely attract more visitors. We chose sunrise to explore the beauty of the station and share first-hand information with everyone.

The platform is now completed and open, and more people are finding out about it. To avoid the crowds, try visiting in the early morning.
The platform itself is the highest point, offering a panoramic view of the coastal scenery. Compared to Duoliang Station, Badouzi Station is closer to the sea and framed by layered mountain ranges, presenting a unique coastal railway vista.
The view from the platform hill features mountains on the right and the coast on the left. Located at the meeting point of mountains and sea, Badouzi Station is definitely a new must-visit spot for rail fans.

The view toward the direction of Ruifang and Jiufen. Whether heading toward Ruifang or the museum, you’ll be treated to unique mountain-and-sea landscapes.
At the end of the platform at the National Museum of Marine Science and Technology, there’s a scenic restaurant that was already extremely popular even before the train line opened. Once the trains start running, it’s bound to become an even hotter spot.
Located on the mountainside, “White House Aegean Sea” offers one of the best sea-viewing spots. Its pure white building, paired with blue skies and white clouds, is truly stunning.
There are also many cyclists on the coastal highway, challenging themselves.
After the sun rises, the platform turns into a golden pathway. This effect only occurs during autumn and winter when the sun aligns directly with the platform—it’s not visible all year round.
Badouzi Station sits at the border between New Taipei City and Keelung City. Whether you’re in Keelung or New Taipei depends on this sign as the boundary.
We took lots of photos on the platform to share with everyone.
Standing on the coastal highway to capture the view of Badouzi Station, the railway platform is built against the mountainside.
At the border, there’s a stone monument of Keelung’s city bird, the eagle, marking your arrival in Keelung City.
The Northeast Coast boasts picturesque scenery and is one of Bao Bao Wen’s favorite coastal stretches. Many people confuse the Northeast Coast with the North Coast.
The Northeast Coast refers to the coastal area between Keelung and Yilan, while the North Coast refers to the area from Keelung to Tamsui. Badouzi Station is located on the Northeast Coast and can be combined with nearby attractions like the National Museum of Marine Science and Technology and Jiaoshi Park for a great trip.
