Do you remember receiving small “Zhufen Success” train ticket gifts from family and friends before major exams during your school days? These are tickets from the famously known “Zhufen Station” in Taichung’s Dajia District (Dajia District)!Built during the Japanese colonial period, it still retains its Japanese architectural structure and has become a very popular photo spot in recent years.
Where is Zhufen Station? It is located in Dajia District, Taichung City, with convenient parking nearby.
As it is located at the junction of the coastal and mountain railway lines, “Zhufen” is a Japanese kanji term meaning “branching road,” which is why the station was named as such. It has become a pilgrimage site for many parents and students hoping for good academic results.

The wishing wall outside the station seems to have not been used in a while, but the slightly faded and damaged notes, along with the slanting sunlight, create a harmonious atmosphere reminiscent of a Japanese shrine.
There is also a guide map next to the station where you can learn about the station’s history, origins, and some nearby attractions.
In front of the station, there is a shop that sells station-themed merchandise, mainly featuring protective charms inscribed with well-known phrases like “achieve success” and “climb higher step by step,” symbolizing hopes that the recipient will surpass themselves just like the words on the charm.
Visitors who come here might want to buy one as a souvenir. Prices range from NT$30 to NT$100, and there are also “Eternal Safety and Health” commemorative tickets available.
The entire structure of Zhufen Station is made mostly of wood, and even without trying, it carries a subtle Japanese style.
Like Chenggong Station, it also uses digital displays to show train schedules for passengers.
There are stamps on the table that you can use yourself to stamp onto postcards or other items you want to give away, creating unique souvenirs.
Zhufen Station, like Chenggong Station, has an “island-platform” structure.
Why not buy two tickets today from Zhufen to Chenggong as a keepsake? Even though we’ve passed our school days, learning never ends in life.
The wooden chairs and windows retain their original color, with two vivid watercolor paintings hanging, and sunlight shining through the tracks like a ray of hope bringing light. Heading toward the platform after entering the station, there is also a garden landscape and “Zhufen Pond.” Doesn’t the overall setting have a charming old-fashioned Japanese vibe?

I really like this one—it looks like a small stone pillar of an old house.
There is also a small park next to the station that you can stroll around. It’s clear that it was designed to match the station’s style, with wooden swings and backboards.
