Little Housewife
Striving to eliminate the "generic and plastic" look in parks, Taichung has been upgrading its playgrounds, featuring traditional terrazzo slides as the centerpiece, supplemented by sand pits, aiming to give Taichung's parks a fresh new look. For example, the Central Taiwan Science Park has a 22-meter-long slide, while Zhentian Ren’ai Park is themed around a military concept. Beitun’s ^Toshiba Park boasts a huge bowl slide that kids absolutely love — there’s even a small one. However, ...

^Toshiba Park’s main attraction is its large bowl slide. The two main chutes have varying slopes — one is steep, the other more gentle — so kids can choose based on their comfort level. Younger toddlers who aren’t very confident on slides might prefer the gentler one. If your child isn’t used to slides, they might hesitate at first.
These two slides offer more resistance, so they’re not as slippery — perfect for younger children who aren’t used to slides.
For safety, daddy accompanied Bao Bao up the stairs. Once he got used to the space, he was running around freely.
^Toshiba Park’s main slide area differs from the usual straight slides you often see, offering a more diverse experience for kids.
It’s just that the first time a toddler goes down, they might hesitate for a bit — the height and slope do look fairly steep from above, which is why the dad nearby suggested we play together.
I really like ^Toshiba Park’s main slide area. It has barriers at the bottom, allowing parents to better assist their children, increasing safety for both kids and parents.
The bottom of the slide is a sand pit — "killing two birds with one stone, digging for clams while washing your pants," meaning you get to slide and play in the sand.
Right next to the sand pit is a public restroom, which includes a baby-changing station. The toilet area is also quite clean, and the adjacent sink is convenient for washing off sand.

^Toshiba Park also has areas suitable for smaller children to play, with opportunities for climbing and sliding.
The park is clean and tidy. Though not very large, it’s a comfortable place to visit. If you’re in Beitun, Taichung, check out this rare big bowl slide.
