Quirky Comeback on Stage: Keiko Sootome’s Counterattack Exhibition

Keiko Sootome, Japan’s master of dark humor and an acclaimed illustrator, presents her exhibition from June 23 to August 26 at Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, taking fans into a delightfully wacky, stress-relieving world of offbeat comedy.

“Keiko Sootome’s Counterattack ~ The Backstage Expo of Keiko ~”The venue features retro hand-drawn illustrations, nostalgic series exhibits, over 30 quirky photo spots, and also Taiwan-exclusive debuts of full-size character figures.

The retro hand-drawn illustrations and nostalgic series exhibits come from the “Counterattack” series of illustrations in the Line stickers created by renowned Japanese illustrator Keiko Sootome. In addition to the precious original hand-drawn drafts, the exhibition also showcases Keiko Sootome’s cross-industry collaborations: novel covers, magazine covers, movie main visual posters, and more.

The venue not only displays artistic sketches and static exhibits, but also offers quirky photo spots everywhere. Free rental of kuso (quirky) props allows visitors to instantly transform into characters from the stickers.

Beyond flat paintings, this exhibition also includes Taiwan-exclusive full-size character figures making their comeback to the venue. An explosion of laughter and tears — the counterattack knows no limits with endless fun in store.
