Situated on the west side of Xingyi Road in Yangmingshan National Park, Sulfur Valley has an otherworldly feel. The natural geothermal landscape from past volcanic activity has formed golden layers of volcanic breccia, along with wisps of rising steam, presenting a majestic sight. The uneven terrain and the barren, gravel-covered surface make you feel like you're in an alien world. With the silvergrass season coming to an end, it's a great time to capture moody, atmospheric photos.

A small granite path, shaded by greenery, leads to Sulfur Valley. Upon arrival, a pool of emerald-green water comes into view. Along the way, there are multiple viewpoints where you can see fumaroles. The trail is easy, and you can even visit nearby Phoenix Valley, completing the whole route in under an hour.

A semicircular free foot bath area that can accommodate 60 people is a delightful treat after a hike. The water temperature is not high, making it comfortable and not too hot for your feet. The spring water is acidic carbonate, commonly known as "white sulfur," which is said to relieve neuralgia and arthritis. While soaking your feet, you can take in the breathtaking natural scenery and immerse yourself in a serene, otherworldly space, leaving all worldly distractions behind.

Opening Hours: Tuesday to Sunday, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM; closed on Mondays.
Transportation: Take the MRT to Beitou Station, then transfer to bus lines Xia 7, Xia 9, or Xia 26 to “Mizuo Temple” Station. The entrance is right next to the bus stop.
