Officially certified on Instagram for its blooming sea of flowers—the largest hydrangea garden in Yangmingshan

Every early summer, hydrangeas across Taiwan burst into bloom. In Yangmingshan’s Zhuzihu area, there are numerous spots to view these flowers, but the Gao Family Hydrangea Field boasts the most expansive sea of blooms. In 2017, a single photo of its hydrangea ocean was reposted and verified by Instagram’s official account, causing it to go viral and become a popular flower-viewing destination.

Known as the backyard of Taipei, Yangmingshan puts on a spectacular display of hydrangea blooms from May to July every year. The Gao Family Hydrangea Field at the end of the Shuichailiao Trail is the largest of them all, with the optimal viewing period starting after May 10. When paired with the misty surroundings, the scenery becomes incredibly romantic and beautiful.

The best viewing period begins after May 10
There are many hydrangea farms in Yangmingshan, including the Big Terrace Flower Eco-Farm, Dashang Garden, JinXin Flowers, and Sweet Garden, among others. They grow a variety of hydrangea cultivars, offering rich colors such as red, pink, and reddish-purple.
