Breathtaking 360-degree Views of a Floral Sea – Japan’s Romantic Azalea Park

Centered around Komuroyama Mountain, which stands at an elevation of 321 meters, this nature park hosts its Azalea Festival annually from late April to early May. Within its vast 35,000-square-meter grounds, around 100,000 azaleas of approximately 40 varieties bloom into a magnificent sea of flowers, covering the park like a vibrant red floral carpet — truly romantic and enchanting.

The park features hiking trails surrounded by floral seas, such as the Komuroyama Ropeway and the Komuroyama Summit Observation Deck, where you can enjoy panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and the lush greenery of the Izu Peninsula. From here, you can also take in 360-degree views of these spectacular landscapes.

During the flower season, in addition to flower viewing, the park hosts events such as open-air tea parties and family-friendly activities. Additionally, nighttime illuminations and other festive events are held in conjunction with the azalea bloom.
