Get a first look at the Queen’s Head light and shadow effects at Yehliu Geopark – nighttime entry draws huge crowds

The Ministry of Transportation and Communications held the “2018 Yehliu Stone Glow – Night Visit to the Queen” coastal special event from April 20 (Fri) to 28 (Sat) via the North Coast and Guanyinshan National Scenic Area Administration to promote “2018 Maritime Tourism Year.”

This event marks the first time Yehliu Geopark has opened for nighttime visits. Centered around “nighttime rocks,” with elements such as ocean waves and fishing lights as the backdrop, and featuring special light and shadow displays from the mushroom rock formations, the colorful lighting changes combined with music offer visitors the chance to experience the sea and sky blending into one at night.

In addition to the “Night Visit to the Queen” event from April 20 (Fri) to 28 (Sat), a special “Yehliu Music Concert” was also held on April 21 (Sat), and tickets for the concert have already sold out.

 

For the “Night Visit to the Queen” event, in order to ensure visitor safety at night, entry is limited to 500 people per evening. Tickets for weekend nights have been completely sold out, so those interested should act quickly — tickets can be purchased online or by phone. Ticket holders can also take advantage of the dedicated nighttime guided tours. Additionally, the park has set aside 100 tickets for the Night Visit to the Queen each day for on-site purchase.

In addition to showcasing Yehliu’s unique “night scenery” during this event, the North Coast and Guanyinshan National Scenic Area Administration also organized activities such as the “Japanese Geopark Special Exhibition,” “Playful Kids’ Experience,” and “Come Play with the Palanquin” from April 20 (Fri) to 22 (Sun) to allow visitors of all ages to enjoy different travel experiences.
