Tainan’s Popular Ice Cream Shop Juanwei’s Limited-Edition Ice Cream Now Available at Convenience Stores

Tainan’s popular ice cream shop Juanwei has been making waves, with its popularity often drawing long lines at the store. Now, you don’t have to visit Tainan to enjoy this beloved treat—you can find it at the well-known convenience store chain 7-Eleven. For the first time, Tainan’s popular ice cream shop Juanwei has collaborated with 7-Eleven to launch a limited edition of 15,000 sets of the “Chinese Ice King Egg Roll Ice Gift Box.” Pre-orders began on April 9, 2018, at all 7-Eleven store counters across Taiwan, and the news quickly sparked heated discussions among netizens.

After two years of planning, Juanwei has reimagined the classic egg roll ice, creating two never-before-seen exclusive flavors: “Honey Black Tea” and “Caramel Custard.” The adorable two-pack packaging uses yellow as the base to create a lively look. In addition to pre-orders at 7-Eleven, Juanwei is also simultaneously selling 700 limited sets at its Tainan Anping store.

Among the two new egg roll ice flavors, the “Honey Black Tea Egg Roll Ice” uses fresh milk from Tainan’s Hu Shan and incorporates traditionally brewed black tea leaves, slow-cooked to bring out the tea’s unique sweet and mellow flavor. The tea leaves are finely ground into powder and slowly kneaded into the mixture, then topped with golden honey, creating layers of elegant taste and aroma that leave a smooth, lingering tea flavor in the mouth. The other flavor, “Caramel Custard Egg Roll Ice,” uses premium Italian mayonnaise never before used by any Taiwanese brand, blended with fresh milk from Tainan’s Hu Shan. Its silky, delicate texture and rich egg flavor perfectly blend with the caramel drizzle, making it truly unforgettable.

Juanwei has launched a limited-edition “Chinese Ice King Egg Roll Ice Gift Box” across Taiwan, featuring two scoops for NT$150, available for pre-order at all 7-Eleven stores. Only 15,000 sets are available. If you want to try this famous ice cream, you’ll need to act fast—it’s expected to sell out soon.
