Starbucks has once again created a unique flagship store, with its latest Tamsui Cloud Gate branch located in the Cloud Gate Theater complex, surrounded by greenery and vast lawns. Its glass-house exterior design has caught everyone’s eye, drawing many fans to visit. 1. Starbucks Cloud Gate Tamsui
To celebrate 20 years of Starbucks in Taiwan, a first-of-its-kind store has been specially created next to the Cloud Gate Theater in Tamsui, situated within a performing arts and cultural space. Blending in with the artistic coexistence of Cloud Gate Theater and nature, it offers views of Guanyin Mountain and the mouth of the Tamsui River, providing a serene and tranquil experience where you can enjoy coffee while soaking in the cultural atmosphere.

2. Cloud Gate Theater
Since the 2008 fire at the Cloud Gate Bali rehearsal space, Cloud Gate founder Lin Hwai-min searched for a new location. In 2015, the “Cloud Gate Theater” reopened here, situated on a small hill near the mouth of the Tamsui River, adjacent to historic sites such as Fort Hobe, Hongmao Castle, and Oxford College. This collaboration between Uni-President Starbucks and Cloud Gate has resulted in the opening of the Starbucks Cloud Gate Tamsui branch — an experience not just of coffee, but also of art and culture in a relaxing space.

3. One Drop of Water Memorial Hall
After the 1995 Great Hanshin Earthquake in Japan, an old house in the Miki community of Fukui Prefecture survived the disaster and became a symbol of post-earthquake reconstruction. After Taiwan’s 1999 921 Earthquake, in recognition of the hardships faced by Taiwanese people rebuilding their homes, the community donated the house to Taiwan. It was named the One Drop of Water Memorial Hall, serving as a meaningful symbol of friendship between Taiwan and Japan.
