The popular Kaohsiung café "Yong Xin Feng Cha" has received rave reviews since opening over two years ago. With attentive preparation of Taiwanese dishes and carefully selected Taiwanese teas, it has garnered a strong fan following. Recently, Yong Xin Feng Cha has decided to expand to Taipei, opening its first northern branch in Taipei’s Dongcheng District.

The name "Yong Xin Feng Cha" is a homophone for the Taiwanese phrase meaning "serving tea with heart." With the owner’s passion for Taiwanese cuisine, the eatery reinvents traditional dishes with modern twists, blending the old with the new. Likewise, driven by a love for Taiwanese tea, the brand aims to promote high-quality local teas in a fashionable way, offering a fresh sensory experience and combining premium Taiwanese tea with classic dishes.

The Taipei branch, located on the third floor of Breeze Xinyi, continues the brand’s signature blend of Western flair and nostalgic Taiwanese style. The iconic vintage wooden tea cabinet and counter with art-deco-inspired edges, paired with a wall of golden tea tins, create a unique charm. Thoughtful interior details such as the tables, chairs, and the experience of sipping Taiwanese tea from wine glasses alongside Western-plated authentic dishes all contribute to a distinctive fusion of retro fashion and modern vibes.

For its Taipei expansion, Yong Xin Feng Cha has also created exclusive new dishes, including “Crispy Soy Milk Chicken Rice” and “Spicy Seafood Mixed Rice.” The former features chicken marinated in sweet fermented tofu, coated and deep-fried, resulting in a flavorful and aromatic thigh-cut chicken rice. The latter stir-fries small squids and shrimp from Penghu with a Taiwanese spicy sauce and drizzles them with kumquat juice to create a special tangy-spicy taste. This new branch, offering rich textures, delicious meals, and unique Taiwanese tea experiences, is expected to quickly become a popular social media check-in spot.
