Wisteria and fireflies bloom together – don’t miss the stunning views at this firefly park

Every spring-to-summer transition is the season when fireflies appear in great numbers, and you can search for their magical twinkling lights in the dark forests. Located in Chiayi, Rainbow Encounter Eco Village is Taiwan’s most densely populated firefly viewing spot, where large numbers of fireflies emerge every April and May. During the day, beautiful wisteria flowers are also in full bloom, making it a must-visit destination in spring.

The park is located in the Rui-Li Scenic Area, situated in the heart of the Alishan Scenic Area at an altitude of 1,000 meters. Here, the air is fresh, the spring water is pure, and the natural landscape and forest resources are abundant — making it an ideal place for travelers seeking health, wellness, leisure, and vacation.

The eco village has long advocated for ecological conservation, especially making tireless efforts in firefly habitat restoration. From March to June each year, large numbers of fireflies appear in the park, with the highest density in the entire province. In addition, wisteria flowers can be enjoyed in spring, with the blooming period lasting until early April.
