Revitalizing old buildings has been a recent trend in spatial design. Situated in a traditional Beijing courtyard-style building, this structure has been transformed into a modern design hotel. At first glance, the exterior looks like an old mansion, while the interior decoration primarily features a minimalist wooden style, blending retro and modern design elements to create a new lodging landmark covering approximately 150 pyeong.

This new design hotel, “Hidden Gem · Stacked Courtyard,” was designed by the local Beijing architecture firm Arch Studio. The site was originally a commercial building in a courtyard style from the early Republican era. The expansive residence features a row of arched doors and windows, a two-story building to the north, and traditional layered courtyards, offering a poetic sense of depth often found in Beijing hutongs.
