With less than 10 days left until the end of 2016, have you decided how you’ll ring in the New Year? Fireworks displays are a staple of every year’s countdown, and this year the “Sky Dream,” reputed to be Taiwan’s largest Ferris wheel located within the Lihpao Resort in Taichung, will also join in the celebration, making the central Taiwan night sky even more spectacular. ETtoday EBC News Cloud has compiled a list of the five must-see countdown fireworks shows this year—let’s welcome the New Year together!

1. Taipei 101 Duration: 238 seconds
This year’s Taipei 101 countdown fireworks show will again last 238 seconds, with the theme “Lighting Up Taiwan.” A unique feature of this year’s show is that the number of fireworks has been halved for the first time, incorporating lighting elements instead. Simulation images and videos were released recently—if you want to see a fireworks display that’s completely different from previous years, be sure to watch it live!

2. Taipei Dazhi Miramar Duration: 317 seconds
The fireworks show at Miramar Ferris Wheel Park this year highlights 317 seconds of “3D Rainbow Fireworks.” Not only does it increase visibility, but it also combines the Miramar Ferris Wheel Square and the Dazhi commercial district to launch the first dual-location, dual-theme countdown party, offering the public a brand-new New Year’s Eve experience.

3. Lihpao Outlet Mall Ferris Wheel “Sky Dream” in Taichung Duration: 180 seconds
The biggest year-end event in central Taiwan is the trial operation of Lihpao Outlet Mall on December 24, and this year’s central Taiwan countdown celebration will also be held here. Taiwan’s largest Ferris wheel, “Sky Dream,” will light up for the first time on New Year’s Eve, with an 180-second fireworks show combined with the Ferris wheel’s light display, ushering in a new chapter for the people of central Taiwan.

4. Yunlin Janfusun Fancyworld Duration: 800 seconds
Janfusun Fancyworld has specially invited the champion of the Macau Fireworks Competition to create an 800-second high-altitude fireworks show this year, paired with a colorful light show, challenging for the widest area, most diverse types, highest density, brightest brightness, and longest firing trajectory of any New Year’s Eve fireworks show in Taiwan.

5. Kaohsiung Yida World Duration: 999 seconds
The Yida World countdown fireworks show in Kaohsiung is the most anticipated year-end event in southern Taiwan every year. The content of this year’s countdown fireworks show was revealed on the 5th—it will not only last 999 seconds (16 minutes and 39 seconds), but will also use Taiwan’s exclusive 3D column firing technology for the first time. Viewers can also expect ink-painting-like waterfall fireworks and phoenix-dancing effects, making it highly anticipated.
