Japan’s Gudetama Smile Train makes an ultra-cute debut as a limited-time photo spot you must visit

Japan’s Seibu Railway 30000 series Smile Train has been in service for ten years since its launch in 2008. Coinciding with the fifth anniversary of the lazy and adorable Gudetama, Seibu Railway has collaborated with Gudetama to launch the “Gudetama Smile Train” commemorative limited-edition train. Not only is the entire Smile Train painted in Gudetama’s signature yellow, but the exterior is also covered with rich Gudetama illustrations, attracting the attention of many fans.

This limited-edition “Gudetama Smile Train” commemorative train ran from March 4, 2018, to late December 2018, offering a 10-month window to see the Gudetama-themed train running on the Ikebukuro Line, Seibu Chichibu Line, and Sayama Line. Both the exterior and interior of the entire train are packed with Gudetama companionship, and the front of the train is even designed with Gudetama’s face. It has not only captivated local Japanese fans but also made children and adults around the world who love Gudetama eager to ride it.

In addition, to coincide with the run of the “Gudetama Smile Train” commemorative train, Seibu Railway has also launched the “Gudetama Smile Train Operation Commemorative Ticket” and set up a special photo spot at Seibu Railway stations where passengers can take photos with Gudetama. This not only offers a memorable souvenir of riding the Gudetama train but also provides a chance to enjoy a fun Gudetama-themed photo session.
