50 Three-Courtyard Compounds Transformed into Lighting Installations—New Hotspot for Photo Ops

The Laizhu NS Community in Miaoli holds the Good Fortune Art Festival every Lantern Festival. In addition to featuring distinctive lantern parades, the event also invites prominent cultural and artistic groups to participate, celebrating traditional settlement culture alongside an art and culture feast. At the same time, it also hosts a three-month-long installation art exhibition, transforming over 50 local Minnan-style three-courtyard compounds into part of the installation art, creating a new highlight for photos.

The Laizhu NS Community is located next to the Toufen Industrial Park in Miaoli. It has had settlement footprints since the Qing Dynasty and boasts a history of over 300 years. The community has preserved nearly 50 three-courtyard compounds, allowing the traces of centuries of history to be maintained. Thanks to the efforts of the Miaoli Traditional Settlement Culture Association, these courtyard compounds have been preserved, enabling the continuation of the community’s traditional ancient house culture.
