Originally called “すき焼き” and written in Japanese as “鋤焼き,” sukiyaki is a special method of cooking beef and one of the Japanese cuisines beloved by many. The process begins by coating the bottom of a hot pan with beef fat, followed by placing thin slices of beef on top to sear. When the beef is half-cooked, a bit of soy sauce and mirin is poured in, along with white sugar to taste. Ingredients such as grilled tofu, leeks, shepherd’s purse, glass noodles, and shiitake mushrooms are added in sequence, creating a rich medley that brings a sense of joy with every bite.

To satisfy winter cravings, the buffet restaurant at Lancheng Regent Hotel has introduced a dedicated “Sukiyaki Zone” during weekday lunch hours, featuring the star dish: “All-you-can-eat Beef Shoulder Sukiyaki.” From now until December 30, the special price is NT$399 per person, with unlimited access to a wide selection of delicious fruits, desserts, and drinks.

The chef team at Lancheng Buffet Restaurant specially selects beef shoulder, slicing it finely to 0.18 cm thickness — its delicate marbling and vibrant red color make it a visual delight on the plate. For the sauce, they use premium daiginjo sake, Kikkoman soy sauce from Japan, Okinawan black sugar, and mirin, slow-cooked into a signature sukiyaki sauce exclusive to Lancheng Buffet. For guests who do not eat beef, snowflake pork is also available, along with other à la carte options for meat and vegetables.

The limited-time “Sukiyaki Zone” at Lancheng Buffet Restaurant is available only on weekdays during lunch hours until the end of this year. For those eager to experience authentic Japanese-style sukiyaki, now is the perfect chance to indulge in generous portions of beef. Diners who wish to enjoy the full buffet can add just NT$300 per person to sample a wide variety of over a hundred dishes. For more details, please call the reservation hotline at (03)910-1010.
