British Food’s New Paradise: Aqualondon Restaurant Grand Opening

When it comes to British food, many people often think of the traditional fish & Chips, but in recent years the UK has had an increasing number of culinary choices, as immigrants from various countries have brought their authentic cuisines to Britain and even elevated them. Especially in the capital city of London, exotic restaurants offering Indian, French, Chinese, Italian, Thai and other international flavors are all excellent destinations for food lovers.

This year, the Aqua Restaurant Group, which owns multiple trendy restaurants and bars that have taken Hong Kong and China by storm, officially opened its first UK branch — “Aqua London” — on Regent Street in London. Spanning a vast area, Aqua London consists of three distinct dining zones, each exuding a dynamic and energetic vibe. These zones are Aqua Nueva, Aqua Kyoto, and Aqua Spirit.

Aqua Nueva, with 160 elegant seats, features a creative menu inspired by traditional dishes from northern Spain. The head chef, Alberto Hernandez, trained under the legendary master Ferran Adria at the three-Michelin-starred El Bulli in Catalonia, Spain. The restaurant’s design is infused with a cutting-edge style, featuring a long glass bar counter and soft lighting that create a warm and vibrant atmosphere. Various beige tones and light wood textures add a unique aesthetic touch. The centerpiece of Aqua Nueva is its Tapas bar. The restaurant also includes four private dining areas that can accommodate between 10 to 50 guests, as well as two eye-catching rooftop terraces that have captured the city’s attention. The combined 3,000-square-meter rooftop space offers breathtaking panoramic views of London’s urban landscape.

Aqua Kyoto showcases the cool sophistication of Tokyo’s Ginza district, redefining contemporary Japanese cuisine. The menu, co-developed by Aqua Kyoto’s head chef Kenichi Shibuya and Aqua Group’s renowned Japanese executive chef Tatsuya Iwahashi (famous in Hong Kong), includes not only modern sushi and sashimi but also a variety of traditional Japanese charcoal-grilled dishes and original creative flavors. The interior décor blends classic and modern elements, with charcoal as the main building material lending a strong Zen-inspired ambiance, serene and transcendent. Aqua Kyoto can accommodate 112 guests and also features two private dining areas that can host between 10 to 70 guests.

Occupying the central section of Aqua London, Aqua Spirit separates the two major dining zones of Aqua Nueva and Aqua Kyoto. It is helmed by the internationally acclaimed and highly creative cocktail maestro Paulo Figueiredo, attracting numerous Hollywood stars and British celebrities, making it the latest hot spot for indulgence. With a capacity of 100 guests, Aqua Spirit features a circular bar counter with 14 stools, and the bar serves lunch every day from Monday to Saturday.
