Discover Tamsui’s stories with the Smart Audio-Visual Guide System showcasing the old and new faces of Tamsui

Before traveling to Tamsui, you can first use the website to design your own travel route and download the audio guide service to your mobile phone. You can also rent an audio-visual guide device from outside Exit 1 of Tamsui MRT Station every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 13:00 to 21:00. Foreign visitors only need to provide their passport, while local visitors can use two forms of ID as a deposit to borrow the device. The audio-visual guide content is divided based on the features and styles of the attractions, including categories such as “Lucky Deities,” “East Meets West,” “Collecting Western Trends,” “Memories of Mackay,” “Arts in Tamsui,” “Shoreline Shadows,” “Waterfront Sentiments,” “Delicious Bites,” as well as in-depth introductions to other attractions.

The rich content includes spots like the White House and Story Wall, Shell Warehouse/Water Airport, San Xie Cheng Pastry Museum, Bao An Tang, Deng Feng Fish Ball Museum, Tamsui Teddy Bear Museum, De Yu Fish Balls/Tamsui Red Building, Miracle Art Coffee, Smile Planet Kids’ Museum, Tamsui Bay Coffee, An-ka Coffee, and more, along with detailed information on over 30 old street shops in the Tamsui commercial area.

The teddy bear, born in the United States in 1902, began being mass-produced and sold by German manufacturers in 1904. The “Teddy Bear World” on Zhongzheng Road in Tamsui is the official Taiwan distributor of the original German brand, making Tamsui the birthplace of teddy bears in Taiwan. The second floor of Teddy Bear World was originally a warehouse for storing teddy bears. Owner Mr. Chung transformed the shop and in March 2009 turned the warehouse area on the second floor into the “Tamsui Teddy Bear Museum,” displaying a variety of rare and collectible teddy bears that the owner and his wife have collected over the years, including the world’s largest and most expensive teddy bear. The museum houses over a thousand “teddy bear groupings” for visitors to take photos and engage in role-play. In addition to customizing various types of teddy bears, visitors can also try their hand at teddy bear DIY, stitching their very own teddy bear.
