The Taipei International Flora Expo blooms brilliantly on the international stage, with an eco-friendly Christmas tree lighting kicking off the festive season.

With the official opening of the “2010 Taipei International Flora Expo” approaching, a variety of delightful activities are being launched one after another. Just before Christmas, an eco-conscious Christmas tree lighting event sparkled at Taipei’s Far Eastern Plaza, heralding another highlight of the Flora Expo. Flora Expo mascots also made an appearance, adding a playful and lively atmosphere to the event.

The Far Eastern Group was chosen as the operational partner for the Flora Expo’s “Trendy Pavilion” thanks to its rich and diverse planning and eco-friendly design concepts. For the Christmas tree lighting event, the Far Eastern Group—celebrating its 60th anniversary this year—adopted the theme “Far Eastern 60: A New Century, Flora Expo Blooms Internationally.” They illuminated a large Christmas tree and unveiled the Trendy Pavilion’s building material, PET bottle bricks, for the first time. A signboard made from approximately 1,300 PET bricks caught the public’s eye, shining alongside the Christmas tree and radiating a strong festive spirit.

The “Trendy Pavilion” of the “2010 Taipei International Flora Expo” is located in the Yuanshan Park area. Its exterior features a bamboo-weaved structure combined with recycled PET bottle bricks, resembling a crystal wall. Equipped with solar power devices to meet its electricity needs, the “Trendy Pavilion” is a truly green building that embodies eco-friendly principles. In addition to hosting environmentally educational activities and exhibitions, the pavilion also features fashion shows, luxury product displays, and cultural performances. This creative and thoughtfully designed “Trendy Pavilion” uniquely blends environmentalism with fashion.

Aside from sponsoring the construction of the Trendy Pavilion, the Far Eastern Group will also manage its operations during the exhibition period. Various attractions such as water purification corridors, butterfly ecology exhibits, and recycled PET bottle displays will surely amaze visitors with the wonders of environmental conservation.
