Reluctant to leave the Youkai Village::Tottori::Mizuki Shigeru Memorial Museum

Traveling west from Sanshu Onsen leads you to Sakaiminato City, the hometown of Mizuki Shigeru, the creator of the popular manga “GeGeGe no Kitaro.” As soon as you arrive, you can feel a strong atmosphere of yokai (supernatural creatures). Along Mizuki Shigeru Dori, you’ll find streetlights shaped like Medama Oyaji (Kitaro’s eyeball father) and over 120 bronze statues of yokai. Even the shops are all designed around characters from the manga, including Kitaro Bakery, Kitaro Barber Shop, Yokai Manju, and the Yokai Shrine.
