Due to unstable weather, tulips, which usually bloom in January, have flowered ahead of schedule. Known for its vast tulip fields, Peach Blossom Fairy Valley in Taoyuan’s Fuxing District mountain area attracts many visitors every year from January to March to admire this sea of flowers that feels like being in Europe. But due to the abnormal climate, this year’s tulips are also blooming earlier, and a significant number of colorful blooms can already be seen now.

Known as the “magic flower” in Europe, tulips are beloved for their delicate posture and vibrant colors. However, outdoor-grown tulips are easily affected by the weather, resulting in a short blooming period. They require regular replacement and are relatively difficult to maintain, making them less commonly seen. Covering an area of 214 hectares, Peach Blossom Fairy Valley has one of the largest tulip plantings in Taiwan. When they are in full bloom, the colorful sea of flowers never fails to amaze.

Although the tulip season has just begun, the tulips in the garden will not reach their peak until after January. But right now, autumn chrysanthemums and tulips are blooming together—a unique sight caused by the warm winter—that’s also worth seeing and commemorating.
