China Airlines launches flights to Miyazaki, starting from just NT$9,200 to explore southern Kyushu

Known for its stunning Pacific coastline and unique geological landscapes, Miyazaki in Kyushu can now be easily explored from January 21 this year — just a 2-hour-and-10-minute flight and starting from around NT$9,200 — to experience the enchanting birthplace of Japanese mythology.

Starting from January 21, China Airlines has added new flights between Taipei and Miyazaki, operating twice weekly on Thursdays and Sundays using a Boeing 737-800 aircraft, offering 8 business class seats and 150 economy class seats. To celebrate the launch, in addition to the most competitive prices for the first three group tour and individual flights, Miyazaki Prefecture Governor Hideo Higashikokubaru also specially came to Taiwan to attend the inaugural flight ceremony and promote the beauty of Miyazaki.

Located in the southeastern part of Kyushu, Japan, Miyazaki enjoys a warm and bright climate and boasts rich cultural characteristics. It is the birthplace of Japanese mythology and the hometown of Japan’s first emperor. Popular attractions include Aoshima Shrine, Takachiho Gorge Waterfall, and Miyazaki Maritime Goddess Park, all must-visit spots when traveling to southern Kyushu. In particular, Miyazaki Shrine, situated in the northern part of Miyazaki city center, enshrines Emperor Jimmu, Japan’s first legendary emperor, and remains deeply revered and worshipped by many locals. Surrounded by lush green forests, Miyazaki Shrine exudes a serene atmosphere completely different from the modern urban area, making it well worth a visit.

With China Airlines’ new Miyazaki route and promotional fares starting from NT$9,200, group tours can be arranged through travel agencies such as Southeast, Kanghui, Canxing, Lion, Wufu, and Shanfu. The itineraries include hot spring bathing, shrine visits, natural sightseeing, as well as golf and cycling tours. China Airlines also serves other Japanese destinations such as Sapporo, Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka, Hiroshima, Fukuoka, and Okinawa.
