Hirosaki Castle
The number of cherry blossom trees in Hirosaki Park and its surrounding areas is truly astonishing. According to statistics, there are about 3,000 Somei Yoshino cherry trees, nearly 1,500 yamazakura (wild cherry trees), and 500 weeping cherry trees. With over 5,000 cherry trees in total, the entire Hirosaki Park is enveloped in the soft pink hues of cherry blossoms during hanami season in spring. For the best angle to capture the beauty of the blossoms, head to Takaoka Bridge, where you can clearly see Hirosaki Castle’s keep, weeping cherry trees, and the distant Mount Iwaki as a stunning backdrop. Additionally, the “Hirosaki Cherry Blossom Festival” held during hanami season is not only a gathering of northeastern Japan’s food stalls but also features lively Tsugaru folk music performances and traditional parades, attracting over 2 million visitors every year...Click to see detailed attraction introduction
