2010 Tong Hua Miao Li – Wear a Tung Blossom Crown and Enjoy a Concert

The opening ceremony and tung blossom concert of the “2010 Miao Li Hakka Tung Blossom Festival” will be held grandly from 11:00 to 21:00 on April 24th at the Tung Blossom Lohas Theme Park in Tong Luo Township. This year’s event features a stellar lineup, including not only local performance groups and popular singers from Miao Li such as Zhuo Lan Experimental High School Night Light Dragon, Yu Da Commercial & Technological University Dance Club, Hard Neck Smooth Flowing Hakka Band, Lin Yu Wen, and Xie Qi Guo, but also well-known indigenous groups like North Original Mountain Cats, Black Mud Band, Leader Band, and the popular twin idol singers BY2, who will all perform on the same stage. On the same day, there will also be a musical performance by the Japanese W-inds, adding a special international flair.

Another highlight of this year’s event is the nation’s first-ever night tung blossom viewing and a dazzling light sculpture music show, which will be presented at 18:00 during the evening opening ceremony, along with the “Lighting Up Miao Li, Reaching the Pinnacle of Lights” light sculpture lighting ceremony. As the public lights their lanterns together and the glow shines upon the tung blossoms, a magnificent lantern experience unfolds. Meanwhile, another exciting event, the TVBS television station’s 2010 Star Light Concert, will also be held that night. The local hosts will lead everyone in interactive activities, creating a memorable night of music and tung blossoms under the stars.

Hakka Tung Blossom Season: A Summer Snow World

The first 100 visitors who attend the opening ceremony and premiere on the day of the Miao Li Tung Blossom Festival will receive exquisite waterproof Hakka blue shirt tote bags, event commemorative fans, or hand-painted lanterns. Limited quantities are available and will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis. To facilitate transportation, the Miao Li County Government has arranged special shuttle buses between Miao Li Railway Station and the Tung Blossom Lohas Theme Park in Tong Luo Township on the day of the event. Visitors who present the event promotional flyer, stamped with the special commemorative seal on the day of the event, can also enjoy special discounts when shopping at nearby merchants.
