Last year, “2009 Taipei International Gourmet Show” invited over 100 Taipei restaurants under the slogan “Taipei Serves,” creating a grand event with a thousand-person dinner. This year, “2010 Taipei International Gourmet Show” makes its comeback with even more—over 500 Taipei restaurants joining forces. Tens of thousands in discount benefits are being unveiled, including top chain brands like the Din Tai Fung Group, well-known gourmet establishments, and premium international cuisine, all offering discounts as low as 30% off, buy-one-get-one-free promotions, and irresistible in-store gifts, with up to NT$100,000 in discount vouchers.

The “2010 Taipei International Gourmet Show” has gathered over 500 of Taipei’s best restaurants to launch the “Taipei Gourmet Passport” booklet, featuring nearly NT$100,000 in benefits. The selection ranges from five-star fine dining to famous Taipei street snacks. The public can pick up the limited-edition “Taipei Gourmet Passport” at 26 selected top eateries, such as Barista Coffee, Yuan Chu Huadiao Chicken, and Ma La Spicy Hotpot. Starting June 1st, passengers riding Taiwan Taxi can also read information about these top Taipei restaurants for free inside the cab. Those who don’t get the booklet can also visit the event’s official website www.2010taipeifood.com to download and print it.

In addition to serving up a variety of dishes from May to July, the “2010 Taipei International Gourmet Show” also introduces the “Taipei Gourmet Travel Package,” allowing people nationwide to discover a different side of Taipei’s urban flavors through food and travel. The organizers will also set up “Surprise Gourmet Capsule Toys” on the streets, where the public can use a NT$50 coin to win exclusive meal discounts. In July, the “Global Picnic Carnival” will invite everyone to enjoy picnicking on the streets of Taipei and experience the city’s unique food charm.
