The Badouzi Railway Station in Keelung was officially opened yesterday (28th), and is being hailed as the most beautiful hidden-gem railway station in northern Taiwan.ETtoday EBC News specially selected one mountain and one sea — two lesser-known private spots — to showcase the beauty of Badouzi from different perspectives.

Mountain – “Rongxuan Trail”
Walk for just 10 minutes from Badouzi Railway Station to reach the “Rongxuan Trail.” The trail is easy to hike, and you can get to the circular viewing platform in less than 10 minutes. From there, enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view that takes in the entire Badouzi Peninsula, the National Museum of Marine Science and Technology, Bisha Fishing Port, and the Yin-Yang Sea.

The scenery changes beautifully throughout the day — from sunrise to sunset to the night view — attracting many photographers to wait and capture the perfect moment. Since the opening of the National Museum of Marine Science and Technology in late 2014, this area has been designated as a tourist zone. Although the nearest station is the Museum of Marine Science and Technology Station, the opening of Badouzi Railway Station has now brought even more tourism potential to this spot.

Sea – “Daping Coast”
After taking in the aerial views of the Badouzi area, we also recommend another hidden beach gem — “Daping Coast.” This is a typical intertidal zone terrain, rich in marine life such as fish, crabs, hermit crabs, and sea urchins living together in harmony. A visit to Daping Coast is incomplete without getting up close to these tidal zone creatures.

Irregular sea caves and reefs are scattered all around, offering unique landscapes perfect for photography. The rocky platforms covered with green seaweed look like naturally woven carpets. In the distance, you can also see Keelung Islet and Peace Island. It’s currently winter, so there are fewer crowds and a more desolate feel, adding a touch of mystery to your photos.
