2010 Busan Haeundae Beach Festival – A New Summer Experience

Busan is a port city located at the southern tip of South Korea and is the second-largest city after Seoul. Events such as the Busan International Film Festival, Busan International Art Festival, and Busan International Rock Festival held here every year attract large numbers of tourists before each festival. Located in the suburbs, Haeundae boasts a 2-kilometer stretch of fine white sandy beaches and is a famous seaside bathing spot in Korea. The beach is lined with numerous top-tier hotels, resembling a Hawaiian beach and becoming a dream vacation paradise for many. Every summer, the entire beach becomes crowded with people enjoying the water, creating an exceptionally lively atmosphere.
The “Busan Haeundae Beach Festival,” launched to pray for the successful hosting of the 2005 APEC, has grown in prominence since its inception, transforming Haeundae Beach from a simple summer destination into a representative festival of Busan. This year’s “Busan Haeundae Beach Festival” will be held from June 4 to June 7 at the White Sand Area of Haeundae Beach, featuring carefully selected unique activities that are sure to amaze visitors.

The “2010 Busan Haeundae Beach Festival” is not just a simple exhibition of sand sculpture displays. The event encompasses all projects using sand as the main material, making the festival richer and more diverse. Festival-goers can become active participants and enjoy the fun firsthand. This year’s event includes a variety of activities such as beach golf, beach marathons, wrestling trials, beach soccer, beach volleyball, as well as experiences like speedboat and kayak rides – over 40 exciting activities in total. Beach activity enthusiasts won’t want to miss this summer extravaganza.
